Last night, there was a documentary on television about this topic. I didn't actually watch it because I had my eyes closed, but what you read below is similar to what I dreamed afterward.
I was dreaming of a document in which Jacques DeMolay's quotations were given, written beneath 4 swatches of blonde hair in four directions on the page. That is the way I will present them.
Following the document reading, I went to my boss to tell him that I learned hhow to make my own drawings on the computer and save them, and I was going to the stationery store to get paper so I could print them out.
A co-wirker named Eric (Rick) who used to be Jack on All My Children, and is now featured on The Bold and the Beautiful accompanied me on my gourney to the stationery store. He is quite cute, and a sllightly shoter than me, but who really cares about exact height if they are cute. - Right ladies?
In the store, there was a chubby woman filing documents into the personal files of famous people, so I am following her example as well.
Jacques de Molay (c. 1244 – 18 March 1314)[1] was the 23rd and last Grand Master of the Knights Templar, leading the Order from 20 April 1292 until it was dissolved by order of Pope Clement V in 1307.[2] Though little is known of his actual life and deeds except for his last years as Grand Master, he is the best known Templar, along with the Order's founder and first Grand Master, Hugues de Payens (1070–1136). Jacques de Molay's goal as Grand Master was to reform the Order, and adjust it to the situation in the Holy Land during the waning days of the Crusades. As European support for the Crusades had dwindled, other forces were at work which sought to disband the Order and claim the wealth of the Templars as their own. King Philip IV of France, deeply in debt to the Templars, had de Molay and many other French Templars arrested in 1307 and tortured into making false confessions. When de Molay later retracted his confession, Philip had him slowly burned upon a scaffold on an island in the River Seine in Paris, in March 1314.[3] The sudden end of both the centuries-old order of Templars, and the dramatic execution of its last leader, turned de Molay into a legendary figure.
Little is known of his early years, but de Molay was probably born in Molay, Haute-Saône, in the county of Burgundy, at the time a territory ruled by Otto III as part of the Holy Roman Empire, and in modern times in the area of Franche-Comté, northeastern France. His birth year is not certain, but judging by statements made during the later trials, was probably between 1240 and 1250. He was born, as most Templar knights were, into a family of minor or middle nobility.[1] It is said he was dubbed a Knight at age 21 in 1265 and that he was executed in 1314 at age 70. These two facts lead to the belief that he was born in 1244.
In 1265, as a young man, he was received into the Order of the Templars in a chapel at the Beaune House, by Humbert de Pairaud, the Visitor of France and England. Another prominent Templar in attendance was Amaury de la Roche, Templar Master of the province of France.[2][4]
Around 1270, de Molay went to the East (Outremer), though little is remembered of his activities for the next 20 years.[4]
After the Fall of Acre to the Egyptian Mamluks in 1291, the Franks (Europeans) who were able to do so retreated to the island of Cyprus. It became the headquarters of the dwindling Kingdom of Jerusalem, and the base of operations for any future military attempts by the Crusaders against the Egyptian Mamluks, who for their part were systematically conquering any last Crusader strongholds on the mainland. Templars in Cyprus included Jacques de Molay and Thibaud Gaudin, the 22nd Grand Master. During a meeting assembled on the island in the autumn of 1291, de Molay spoke of reforming the Order, and put himself forward as an alternative to the current Grand Master. Gaudin died around 1292, and as there were no other serious contenders for the role at the time, de Molay was soon elected. In spring 1293, he began a tour of the West to try to muster more support for a reconquest of the Holy Land. Developing relationships with European leaders such as Pope Boniface VIII, Edward I of England, James I of Aragon and Charles II of Naples, de Molay's immediate goals were to strengthen the defence of Cyprus, and rebuild the Templar forces.[5] From his travels, he was able to secure authorization from some monarchs for the export of supplies to Cyprus, but could obtain no firm commitment for a new Crusade.[6] There was talk of merging the Templars with one of the other military orders, the Knights Hospitaller. The Grand Masters of both orders opposed such a merger, but pressure increased from the Papacy.
It is known that de Molay held two general meetings of his order in southern France, at Montpellier in 1293 and at Arles in 1296, where he tried to make reforms. In the autumn of 1296 de Molay was back in Cyprus to defend his order against the interests of Henry II of Cyprus, which conflict had its roots back in the days of Guillaume de Beaujeu.
From 1299 to 1303, de Molay was engaged in planning and executing a new attack against the Mamluks. The plan was to coordinate actions between the Christian military orders, the King of Cyprus, the aristocracy of Cyprus, the forces of Cilician Armenia, and a new potential ally, the Mongols of the Ilkhanate (Persia), to oppose the Egyptian Mamluks and retake the coastal city of Tortosa in Syria.
For generations, there had been communications between the Mongols and Europeans towards the possibility of forging a Franco-Mongol alliance against the Mamluks, but without success. The Mongols had been repeatedly attempting to conquer Syria themselves, each time being forced back either by the Egyptian Mamluks, or having to retreat because of a civil war within the Mongol Empire, such as having to defend from attacks from the Mongol Golden Horde to the north. In 1299, the Ilkhanate again attempted to conquer Syria, having some preliminary success against the Mamluks in the Battle of Wadi al-Khazandar in December 1299. In 1300, de Molay and other forces from Cyprus put together a small fleet of 16 ships which committed raids along the Egyptian and Syrian coasts. The force was commanded by King Henry II of Jerusalem, the king of Cyprus, accompanied by his brother, Amalric, Lord of Tyre, and the heads of the military orders, with the ambassador of the Mongol leader Ghazan also in attendance. The ships left Famagusta on 20 July 1300, and under the leadership of Admiral Baudouin de Picquigny, raided the coasts of Egypt and Syria: Rosette,[7] Alexandria, Acre, Tortosa and Maraclea, before returning to Cyprus.[8]
The Cypriots then prepared for an attack on Tortosa in late 1300, sending a joint force to a staging area on the island of Ruad, from which raids were launched on the mainland. The intent was to establish a Templar bridgehead to await assistance from Ghazan's Mongols, but the Mongols failed to appear in 1300. The same happened in 1301 and 1302, and the island was finally lost in the Siege of Ruad on 26 September 1302, eliminating the Crusaders' last foothold near the mainland.
Following the loss of Ruad, de Molay abandoned the tactic of small advance forces, and instead put his energies into trying to raise support for a new major Crusade, as well as strengthening Templar authority in Cyprus. When a power struggle erupted between King Henry II and his brother Amalric, the Templars supported Amalric, who took the crown and had his brother exiled in 1306. Meanwhile, pressure increased in Europe that the Templars should be merged with the other military orders, perhaps all placed under the authority of one king, and that individual should become the new King of Jerusalem when it was conquered.[9]
In 1305, the newly elected Pope Clement V asked the leaders of the military orders for their opinions concerning a new crusade and the merging of the orders. De Molay was asked to write memoranda on each of the issues, which he did during the summer of 1306.[10] De Molay was opposed to the merger, believing instead that having separate military orders was a stronger position, as the missions of each order were somewhat different. He was also of the belief that if there were to be a new crusade, it needed to be a large one, as the smaller attempts were not effective.[9][11]
On 6 June, the leaders of both the Templars and the Hospitallers were officially asked to come to the Papal offices in Poitiers to discuss these matters, with the date of the meeting scheduled as All Saints Day in 1306, though it later had to be postponed due to the Pope's illness with gastro-enteritis. De Molay left Cyprus on 15 October, arriving in France in late 1306 or early 1307; however, the meeting was again delayed until late May due to the Pope's illness.[11]
King Philip IV of France was at war with the English, and deeply in debt to the Templars. He was in favor of merging the Orders under his own command, to make himself Rex Bellator or War King, but de Molay rejected this idea. Philip was already at odds with the papacy, trying to tax the clergy, and had been attempting to assert his own authority as higher than that of the Pope. For this, one of Clement's predecessors, Pope Boniface VIII, had attempted to have Philip excommunicated, but Philip then had Boniface abducted and charged with heresy. The elderly Boniface was rescued, but then died of shock shortly thereafter. His successor Pope Benedict VIII did not last long, dying in less than a year,[12] possibly poisoned via Philip's councillor Guillaume de Nogaret. It took a year to choose the next Pope, the Frenchman Clement V, who was also under strong pressure to bend to Philip's will. Clement moved the Papacy from Italy to Poitiers, France, where Philip continued to assert more dominance over the Papacy and the Templars.
The leader of the Hospitallers, Fulk de Villaret, was also delayed in his travel to France, as he was engaged with a battle at Rhodes. He did not arrive until late summer,[11] so while waiting for his arrival, de Molay met with the Pope on other matters, one of which was the charges by one or more ousted Templars who had made accusations of impropriety in the Templars' initiation ceremony. De Molay had already spoken with the king in Paris on 24 June 1307 about the accusations against his order and was partially reassured. Returning to Poitiers, de Molay asked the Pope to set up an inquiry to quickly clear the Order of the rumours and accusations surrounding it, and the Pope convened an inquiry on 24 August.
There were five initial charges lodged against the Templars. The first was the renouncement and spitting on the cross during initiation into the Order. The second was the stripping of the man to be initiated and the thrice kissing of that man by the preceptor on the navel, posteriors and the mouth. The third was telling the neophyte (novice) that unnatural lust was lawful and indulged in commonly. The fourth was that the cord worn by the neophyte day and night was consecrated by wrapping it around an idol in the form of a human head with a great beard, and that this idol was adored in all chapters. The fifth was that the priests of the order did not consecrate the host in celebrating Mass.[13] Subsequently, the charges would be increased and would become, according to the procedures, lists of articles 86 to 127[3] in which will be added a few other charges, such as the prohibition to priests who do not belong to the order.[14]
On 14 September, Philip took advantage of the rumors and inquiry to begin his move against the Templars, sending out a secret order to his agents in all parts of France to implement a mass arrest of all Templars at dawn on 13 October. Philip wanted the Templars arrested and their possessions confiscated to incorporate their wealth into the Royal Treasury and to be free of the enormous debt he owed the Templar Order. de Molay was in Paris on 12 October, where he was a pallbearer at the funeral of Catherine of Courtenay, wife of Count Charles of Valois, and sister-in-law of King Philip. In a dawn raid on Friday, 13 October 1307, de Molay and sixty of his Templar brothers were arrested. Philip then had the Templars charged with heresy and many other trumped-up charges, most of which were identical to the charges which had previously been leveled by Philip's agents against Pope Boniface VIII.
During forced interrogation by royal agents at the University of Paris on 24/25 October, de Molay confessed that the Templar initiation ritual included "denying Christ and trampling on the Cross". He was also forced to write a letter asking every Templar to admit to these acts. Under pressure from Philip IV, Pope Clement V ordered the arrest of all the Templars throughout Christendom.
In the royal palace at Chinon, de Molay was again questioned by the cardinals, but this time with royal agents present, and he returned to his forced admissions made in 1307. In November 1309, the Papal Commission for the Kingdom of France began its own hearings, during which de Molay again recanted, stating that he did not acknowledge the accusations brought against his order.
Any further opposition by the Templars was effectively broken when Philip used the previously forced confessions to sentence 54 Templars to be burnt at the stake on 10–12 May 1310.
The council which had been called for 1310 was delayed for two years due to the length of the trials, but finally was convened in 1312. On 22 March 1312, at the Council of Vienne, the Order of the Knights Templar was abolished by papal decree.
Of his death it is recorded:
"The cardinals dallied with their duty until 18 March 1314, when, on a scaffold in front of Notre Dame, Jacques de Molay, Templar Grand Master, Geoffroi de Goneville, Master of Normandy, Hugues de Peraud, Visitor of France, and Godefroi de Gonneville, Master of Aquitaine, were brought forth from the jail in which for nearly seven years they had lain, to receive the sentence agreed upon by the cardinals, in conjunction with the Archbishop of Sens and some other prelates whom they had called in. Considering the offences which the culprits had confessed and confirmed, the penance imposed was in accordance with rule—that of perpetual imprisonment. The affair was supposed to be concluded when, to the dismay of the prelates and wonderment of the assembled crowd, de Molay and Geoffroi de Charney arose. They had been guilty, they said, not of the crimes imputed to them, but of basely betraying their Order to save their own lives. It was pure and holy; the charges were fictitious and the confessions false. Hastily the cardinals delivered them to the Prevot of Paris, and retired to deliberate on this unexpected contingency, but they were saved all trouble. When the news was carried to Philippe he was furious. A short consultation with his council only was required. The canons pronounced that a relapsed heretic was to be burned without a hearing; the facts were notorious and no formal judgment by the papal commission need be waited for. That same day, by sunset, a pile was erected on a small island in the Seine, the Isle des Juifs, near the palace garden. There de Molay and de Charney were slowly burned to death, refusing all offers of pardon for retraction, and bearing their torment with a composure which won for them the reputation of martyrs among the people, who reverently collected their ashes as relics." (Note: the account varies by one day, not unusual for chronicles of the middle ages)[15]
In September 2001, Barbara Frale found a copy of the Chinon Parchment in the Vatican Secret Archives, a document which explicitly confirms that in 1308 Pope Clement V absolved Jacques de Molay and other leaders of the Order including Geoffroi de Charney and Hugues de Pairaud. She published her findings in the Journal of Medieval History in 2004.[16] Another Chinon parchment dated 20 August 1308 addressed to Philip IV of France, well-known to historians,[17][18][19] stated that absolution had been granted to all those Templars that had confessed to heresy "and restored them to the Sacraments and to the unity of the Church".[20][21]
The sudden arrest of the Templars, the conflicting stories about confessions, and the dramatic deaths by burning, generated many stories and legends about both the Order, and its last Grand Master.
In France in the 19th century, false stories circulated that de Molay had captured Jerusalem in 1300. These rumors are likely related to the fact that the medieval historian the Templar of Tyre wrote about a Mongol general named "Mulay" who occupied Syria and Palestine for a few months in early 1300.[22] The Mongol Mulay and the Templar de Molay were entirely different people, but some historians regularly confused the two.
The confusion was enhanced in 1805, when the French playwright/historian François Raynouard made claims that Jerusalem had been captured by the Mongols, with de Molay in charge of one of the Mongol divisions.[22] "In 1299, the Grand-Master was with his knights at the taking of Jerusalem."[23] This story of wishful thinking was so popular in France, that in 1846 a large-scale painting was created by Claude Jacquand, entitled Molay Prend Jerusalem, 1299 ("Molay Takes Jerusalem, 1299"), which depicts the supposed event. Today the painting hangs in the Hall of the Crusades in the French national museum in Versailles.[24]
In the 1861 edition of the French encyclopedia, the Nouvelle Biographie Universelle, it even lists de Molay as a Mongol commander in its "Molay" article:
"Jacques de Molay was not inactive in this decision of the Great Khan. This is proven by the fact that Molay was in command of one of the wings of the Mongol army. With the troops under his control, he invaded Syria, participated in the first battle in which the Sultan was vanquished, pursued the routed Malik Nasir as far as the desert of Egypt: then, under the guidance of Kutluk, a Mongol general, he was able to take Jerusalem, among other cities, over the Muslims, and the Mongols entered to celebrate Easter"—Nouvelle Biographie Universelle, "Molay" article, 1861.[22]
Modern historians, however, state that the truth of the matter is this: There are indeed numerous ancient records of Mongol raids and occupations of Jerusalem (from Western, Armenian, or Arab sources), and in 1300 the Mongols did achieve a brief victory in Syria which caused a Muslim retreat, and allowed the Mongols to launch raids into the Levant as far as Gaza for a period of a few months. During that year, rumors flew through Europe that the Mongols had recaptured Jerusalem and were going to return the city to the Europeans. However, this was only an urban legend, as the only activities that the Mongols had even engaged in were some minor raids through Palestine, which may or may not have even passed through Jerusalem itself.[4][25] And regardless of what the Mongols may or may not have done, de Molay was never a Mongol commander, and probably never set foot in Jerusalem.
Geoffroi de Charny (the French Knight who died at the 1356 battle of Poitiers) and his wife Jeanne de Vergy are the first reliably recorded owners of the Turin Shroud. This Geoffroi participated in a failed crusade under Humbert II of Viennois in the late 1340s.[26] He is sometimes confused with Templar Geoffroi de Charney.[27]
As stated above, of the five original accusations made against the Knights Templars one was the "worshipping of an idol of a man with a long beard". It specifically states: "...The cord which the Templars wore over the shirt day and night as a symbol of chastity had been consecrated by wrapping it around an idol in the form of a human head with a great beard, and this head was adored in the chapters..." [28] The image was never found. It never mentions the image to be de Molay. Further it seems to describe a rounded idol. If it existed at all (and was not just a product of torture), it could not have been the Shroud of Turin just by its description. There were many early iconic images of a bearded Jesus that existed at that time.[29]
It is said that Jacques de Molay cursed King Philip IV of France and his descendants from his execution pyre. The story of the shouted curse appears to be a combination of words by a different Templar, and those of de Molay. An eyewitness to the execution stated that de Molay showed no sign of fear, and told those present that God would avenge their deaths.[30] Another variation on this story was told by the contemporary chronicler Ferretto of Vicenza, who applied the idea to a Neapolitan Templar brought before Clement V, whom he denounced for his injustice. Some time later, as he was about to be executed, he appealed 'from this your heinous judgement to the living and true God, who is in Heaven', warning the pope that, within a year and a day, he and Philip IV would be obliged to answer for their crimes in God's presence.[31]
It is true that Philip and Clement V both died within a year of Molay's execution, Clement finally succumbing to a long illness on 20 April 1314, and Philip in a hunting accident. Then followed the rapid succession of the last Direct Capetian kings of France between 1314 and 1328, the three sons of Philip IV. Within 14 years from the death of de Molay, the 300-year-old House of Capet collapsed. This series of events forms the basis of Les Rois Maudits (The Accursed Kings), a series of historical novels written by Maurice Druon between 1955 and 1977, which was also turned into two French television miniseries in 1972 [32] and 2005.[33]
The American historian Henry Charles Lea wrote: "Even in distant Germany Philippe's death was spoken of as a retribution for his destruction of the Templars, and Clement was described as shedding tears of remorse on his death-bed for three great crimes, the poisoning of Henry VI, Holy Roman Emperor, and the ruin of the Templars and Beguines".[34]
Some 400 years after the death of de Molay and the dissolution of the Knights Templar, the fraternal order of Freemasonry began to emerge in northern Europe. The Masons developed an elaborate mythos about their Order, and some claimed heritage from entities in history,[35] ranging from the mystique of the Templars to the builders of Solomon's Temple. The story of de Molay's brave defiance of his inquisitors has been incorporated in various forms into Masonic lore. One modern youth group sponsored by Freemasonry is even named after the Grand Master, DeMolay International.[36] The stories of the Templars' secret initiation ceremonies also proved a tempting source for Masonic writers who were creating new works of pseudohistory. As described by modern historian Malcolm Barber in The New Knighthood: "It was during the 1760s that German masons introduced a specific Templar connection, claiming that the Order, through its occupation of the Temple of Solomon, had been the repository of secret wisdom and magical powers, which James of Molay had handed down to his successor before his execution and of which the eighteenth-century Freemasons were the direct heirs."[37]

General Instructions
This Ritual of Secret Work of the Order of DeMolay is the official standard for all ceremonial work of the Order. It presumes the existence of ideal conditions for the presentation of the work. In those instances in which the Chapter room or meeting hail impose physical limitations, the Chapter may make the adjustments necessary, so long as they adhere as closely as feasible to this official standard.
All DeMolays, Chapters, and Advisors are reminded that a full officer corps is the best and proper manner in which to confer all degrees and present all Ritual work of the Order. Only in exceptional circumstances, and with the expressed approval of the Executive Officer, are Chapters to use a reduced officer corps for the duration of time where it is absolutely necessary. A reduced officer corps was never intended to replace the full officer corps. All Chapters are encouraged to work toward the complete ritual.
Room arrangements and Paraphernalia
Room Arrangement: The Altar, the Councilors’ seats and pedestals, the stations of the Officers and chairs for the members should be arranged as shown on Diagram One or as close to that arrangement as the circumstances of the room permit. For example: Some Chapters may find it necessary to place the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Preceptors on the South side of the room and the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Preceptors on the North side. If the door through which most Officers, members and others normally enter the Chapter room is not located at the point indicated as “A” on Diagram One, the Junior Deacon and Sentinel would necessarily be relocated to that door to enable them to control access.
Required Paraphernalia: A Chapter room should be furnished with the following paraphernalia: Crown of Youth with seven detachable jewels, two gavels, seven candlesticks with candles, Bible, school books, National flag in standard and gong.
Optional Items: Altar cloth, flowers, Chapter banner, baton for Marshal, Bible marker and gavel for the Junior Councilor.
Candles: The candles should be arranged about and to the East of the Altar.
Flag and Banner: The National flag and the Chapter banner should be placed in standards at the positions shown on diagram.
Gavels: A gavel should be on the pedestal at the stations of the Master Councilor and Senior Councilor.
Altar: In a Chapter meeting, only the Holy Bible and school books must be placed on the Altar. If desired, only an Altar cloth, Bible marker and flowers may be added.
Prior to the entrance of the Officers, the closed Holy Bible should be lying near the center of the Altar and the school books should be at the Junior Steward’s station. If flowers are used, they should be placed around the Holy Bible, but not on it. If a Bible marker is used, the DeMolay emblem upon it, if any, should be toward the West side of the Altar, whether the Bible is open or closed. If there is a DeMolay emblem on the Altar cloth, it should be on the West side.
Robes: The uniform robe adopted by DeMolay International for use by Chapter Officers is a black cape robe lined with red with the DeMolay emblem on the wearer’s right breast. That robe is for use by all Officers in the Opening Ceremonies, the Closing Ceremony, the Initiatory Degree, and the Fourth Section of the DeMolay Degree.
Pronunciations and Definitions: Appendix A contains a brief dictionary of words used in DeMolay ceremonies, including correct pronunciations. DeMolay members preparing a ritual part should consult Appendix A for a thorough understanding of the meanings of the words and correct pronunciations so they may more effectively teach the lessons contained in the degrees.
Music: The use of music in all DeMolay Ritual work is strongly recommended. Throughout the text, blanks for the entry of suggested music are provided. A standard cassette tape of musical selections is available from the DeMolay Service and Leadership Center
Conduct in the Chapter Room
Floor Movements: After the Master Councilor has called the Chapter to order, no person shall pass between the Altar and the East except when this Ritual expressly requires it.
All floor movements should be made in a clockwise direction except when specifically nosed otherwise. The shaded area on Diagram One represents a walking band which is always wide enough for two Officers to walk side by side. All Officers’ movements about the Chapter room are directed by the letters on Diagram One. X is the station of the Officer(s) being directed. Z is the point on the walking band nearest the station of the Officer(s) being directed.
An Officer directed to move X Z moves directly forward from his station to the walking band, except: the Councilors, Scribe and Treasurer will move by the most direct route to the walking band, but around the pedestals or desks in their paths. An Officer directed to move Z X returns to his station by retracing his X Z route.
Floor Movement Examples: Movements of the Chaplain and Marshal from their stations by way of the South to the West side of the Altar would be noted thus: Ch. and Mar. move X Z I J. Their return from the West side of the Altar by way of the North to their stations would be noted: Ch. and Mar. move J K V Z X.
Recognition: When a person wishes to be recognized by the Master Councilor, he should rise, face the Master Councilor, and remain silent until he is recognized. When a person is addressed by the Master Councilor by name, or an Officer by title, he shall rise immediately and face the Master Councilor. No other salute of any kind is to be given to the Master Councilor. Except during prayers, all Officers (including the Master Councilor) and all other persons stand when speaking.
Gavel Raps: Except when this Ritual expressly requires otherwise, when a gavel is rapped once, all Officers standing at stations and all others standing will go to appropriate seats and sit down; when rapped twice, all Officers sitting will stand; when rapped three times, all persons sitting will stand.
Marshal Conducts: When the Marshal conducts an Officer or any other person, he shall use his right arm and hand to take hold of the Officers or person’s left forearm and wrist. The Marshal may carry a baton. If he does so, one end of the baton should be in his left hand; the other end should be tucked under his left arm. These instructions do not apply to the Marshal of the Commission in the DeMolay Degree. “Conduct” in that Degree may mean “escort” of “accompany”.
Prayers: During prayers, all Active DeMolays (except the Chaplain and Marshal) kneel facing the Altar. An Active DeMolay kneels on his left knee, his right elbow resting on his right knee, his forehead resting in his right hand as shown, his left hand around his right elbow. The Chaplain kneels at the Altar on both knees both hands palms down on the Holy Bible, body erect, and head slightly turned up; eyes may be opened or closed. The Marshal, all Senior DeMolays, Advisors, and all Master Masons (who are not Active DeMolays) remain standing facing the Altar. Active DeMolays kneel and rise in unison with the Chaplain. Special rules are here set forth for two Officers: The Marshal and the Standard Bearer, in particular instances: (1) the Marshal in the formation of the Triangle kneels with the other Officers. If the Marshal is carrying a baton, he kneels placing the baton across his right leg, behind his right elbow; (2) the Standard Bearer does not kneel during the prayer in the Initiatory Degree Opening Ceremony.
At the close of prayers and before rising, Active DeMolays respond “Amen”, except after the Nine O’Clock Interpolation prayer, when they respond “God bless mother. God bless father. God bless the purposes of DeMolay. Amen.”
Forms of Address: An Active DeMolay who is not an Officer of the Chapter is addressed by the title “Brother” followed by his last name. An Officer of the Chapter is addressed by the title “Brother” followed by the title of his office. An Advisor is addressed by the title “Dad” followed by his last name. A Senior DeMolay who is not an Advisor is addressed by the title “Brother” followed by his last name. A Master Mason who is not an Advisor or an Active DeMolay is addressed by the title “Mister” followed by his last name.
Parts: Any Active DeMolay may perform the part of Master Councilor in an initiation, the part does not necessarily have to be performed by the regularly installed Master Councilor.

Suggested music cue.
Deacons face respectively North and South. S.D. moves I K to S.B.; J.D. move J I to Ch. They then collect the password and grip (not sign) of the DeMolay Degree from each Active DeMolay except the Councilors, starting with those Officers mentioned. The password is given by the Active DeMolays to the Deacon and is not exchanged in syllables. The J.D. collects from those on the South side; S.D. collects from those on the North side. Deacons keep watch on each other’s pace so that they arrive at the West of the room at the same time. When Deacons have finished collecting the word, J.D. moves to door A, S.D. moves to door B. J.D. moves A I J; Simultaneously S.D. moves B K J; both face West, standing within approximately 3 feet of each other

Nine o’clock interpolation
All Chapter meetings, whether public or private, require the giving of the Nine O’Clock Interpolation if the meeting includes the hour of nine o’clock in the evening. The Nine O’Clock Interpolation may also be given on other public DeMolay occasions which include the hour of nine o’clock in the evening when the circumstances are appropriate to the nature of the ceremony.
When the hour of nine o’clock arrives--or as soon thereafter as the proceedings will not be too greatly disturbed--all lights except the candles are dimmed. A gong is struck nine times. The striking of the gong and the dimming of the lights may be omitted at public occasions if the circumstances are such that that would be more appropriate.

DeMolay Degree
DeMolay before the commission
First Section
The text of this Degree must be followed to the letter. No words may be added or deleted from those here printed. Positively no additional scenes can be used not included here. Chapters are encouraged to make the Degree more impressive by employing effective and appropriate scenery, costumes, equipment and staging and reasonable latitude is given in these areas as well as an interpretation of the way the lines may be delivered. Certain explanatory phrases are placed in italics and in parentheses at the beginning of some speeches to indicate a suggested way to deliver the lines. Non-speaking characters such as extra Inquisitors and Guards may be added. If extra Inquisitors are added, seats must be provided for the other members of the Commission at each side of the speaking Inquisitors. The foremost point to be remembered is to portray Jacques DeMolay as the hero and to select an interpretation for the DeMolay Degree which will enhance the lessons of fidelity and toleration. The scene is lighted by candles or a combination of candles and electric lights, but there must be sufficient light to discern the features of all the characters easily.
Chamber Guards are primarily security guards and are not particularly concerned with the prisoners. Prisoner Guards are those who enter with the Senior Guard and are primarily concerned with the prisoners.
Suggested music cues are listed and it is strongly recommended that music be used. A standard cassette may be obtained from the DeMolay Service and Leadership Center.

Stage Set-up
If the Degree is conducted on a stage, the Master Inquisitor should sit in the center of the Northeast corner of the stage, as in the illustration, with the Junior Inquisitor at his left and the Senior Inquisitor at his, right. A long table can be used, if desired, with the Master Inquisitor at the center, the Junior Inquisitor at the left end and the Senior Inquisitor at the right end. Downstage, toward the Southwest corner should be the Scribes of the Inquisitors. Seats must be provided for DeMolay and his three preceptors. These are to be placed at the right and left of the Scribes. The Orator should stand in front of the curtain, and at stage center to begin his lecture. After the Orator has given his lecture and all is in readiness, the curtain is raised showing the Council Chamber with one or more Chamber Guards stationed at convenient points. The scene is almost dark. An attendant is going about lighting candles.
The scene gradually lightens so that the characters ate discernible and fairly easy to recognize. The Inquisitors are escorted in by the Marshal of the Commission and they take their places. The Inquisitors confer in silence for a few moments, examining their documents, etc.
Lodge Set-up
All the Inquisitors may sit in the East or the M.I. may sit in the East with the J.I. and S.I. at floor level or all three may sit at floor level. They may be seated at a long table as described in Stage Set-up. In any case, M.I. is at center, J.I. is to M.I.’s left and S.I. is to M.I.’s right. The Altar may be moved to enlarge the available space. The Orator should stand near and in front of M.I.’s Chair to begin his lecture. After the Orator has delivered his lecture, the Candle-lighter will enter the room and light the candles The Chamber Guard(s) will enter with the Candlelighter or while he is lighting the candles. Candlelighter and Chamber Guards must be in the room before any other character enters. There must be sufficient light from candles or a combination of candles and electric light so that the characters are discernible and fairly easy to recognize. The Scribes of the Inquisitors should sit at a table in front of the Senior Councilor’s station in the Initiatory Degree. Seats must be provided for DeMolay and his three Preceptors on either side of the Scribe’s table. The Inquisitors are escorted in by the Marshal of the Commission and they take their places. The Inquisitors confer in silence for a few moments, examining their documents, etc.
Though the Degree is conducted in a lodge room, the arrangements described in the stage instructions, above may be used. If so, the Orator will stand in the same position as he would if there were a curtain.
Pledge of Secrecy for Adults not Masons and not Senior DeMolays
The following Pledge of Secrecy shall be given to all adults who are not Master Masons, advisors or Senior DeMolays immediately before witnessing the Secret Work. After the pledge of secrecy has been given and non-Masonic adults have been seared, the Master Councilor shall proceed. If there are no non-Masonic adults present, this portion may be omitted.
From the East, the Master Councilor shall perform the following.
M.C.: Before proceeding with our Ceremony, we request all adults who are not Master Masons, Advisors, or Senior DeMolays, and who are attending a DeMolay meeting for the first time to assume a Pledge of Secrecy. You will please rise for the pledge.
Unobligated non-Masonic adults and non-Senior DeMolays rise. The Chapter Advisor rises and repeats pledge with visitors.
M.C.: You will place your right hand over your heart and repeat after me. In the presence of God and these witnesses, I solemnly affirm on my honor, that I will never divulge, the transactions of any Chapter, of the Order of DeMolay, or the Ceremonies of the Order, to anyone not entitled thereto; that I will encourage the fidelity, of every member of the Order of DeMolay, by faithful observance of this pledge.

Or.: My Brothers, the Degree which you are about to receive represents the tragic climax in the career of Jacques DeMolay, the hero and martyr who is the exemplar of our Order.
History has placed upon Philip the Fair of France the brand of Cain for the murder of DeMolay and thousands of brave members of the Order of the Temple, of which DeMolay was the last Grand Master. These events occurred nearly seven centuries ago.
Tyranny teaches the need of toleration. Bigotry sounds the call to brotherhood. We seek to emphasize the magnificent heroism of DeMolay, his unfaltering fidelity to the trust reposed in him, his loyalty unto death. These and other virtues, which belong to no age or time, we have infused into our teachings as the most enduring basis of broadly built human character. We believe that if we build our lives as young men on such a foundation, we shall be stronger and better men when the greater duties of citizenship become ours.
DeMolay and his principal officers were subjected to a number of trials and many frightful persecutions marked the closing years of DeMolay and the Order of the Temple.
We have been compelled to condense all this into one scene, historically the final hearing before a Commission in its Council Chamber. Into this scene has been crowded much that, it is logical to assume, took place at one or another of the hearings which preceded it.
DeMolay and his three Preceptors, Guy of Auvergne, Godfrey de Goneville and Hughes de Peralde, were condemned to life imprisonment.
But so incensed was the king at the noble defiance and defense of DeMolay and Guy of Auvergne that he overrode the Commission’s verdict and hurried DeMolay and Auvergne to the stake on an island near the
Cathedral, where they were barbarously burned.
Whether the scene is considered approximately accurate from a historical standpoint, or whether it is interpreted merely as a symbolic scene inculcating the virtues of fidelity and toleration, the paramount purpose is to impress the cardinal tenets of the Degree, which harmonize with the general teachings of our Order. If from it you receive a more graphic conception than you would otherwise secure of the fidelity which is loyal unto death, then the purpose of the Degree will have been attained.

M.C.: Bring the prisoners before the Master Inquisitor.

S.G. escorts prisoners into Council Chamber with DeMolay in advance and seats them with guards standing immediately back of prisoners.
M.C.: Sir Master Inquisitor, here are Jacques DeMolay, Guy of Auvergne, Godfrey de Goneville, and Hughes de Peralde who, having been removed from their rank and honors as heads of the Templars and cast into dungeons because they have defied the commands of the Inquisition, are now brought before you for final judgment.
M.I.:
Jacques DeMolay, thou art brought before us with these three high officials of
thy Order for final judgment. Thou art charged, with these thy followers and
others, with being the head of an Order that has practiced many abominations.
Thou art charged with hypocrisy and treachery in conducting the crusades in the
Holy Land. Thou art charged with betraying the King and with heresy toward the
Church. Thou art charged with living in wealth while the poor have starved. Thou
art charged with conniving with the infidel to make the crusades fail of their
holy purpose.
What answer canst thou make? These documents
brandishing them teem with evidence to support these charges. They
show as the last proof of all that thou, with these companions, hast confessed
to the charges brought against thee.
J.D., springing to his feet: The charges are monstrous, and if any confession appears among thy papers, it is perjured, forged and false. Sir Master Inquisitor, the valor of my brave companions has been proved by their bones that rest in distant Palestine. Our Order is pledged to the relief of need and our wealth was ever held at its call until it was wrested from us by an avaricious King.
S.I.: Sir Master Inquisitor, shall we listen to further treason against our King?
J.D.: Nay, Sir Senior Inquisitor. If the valiant knights who have been slain by order of this King of ours could speak, they would condemn him with a thousand tongues. We bow the knee of fealty to our sovereign Lord, and we have ever been loyal servants of the Mother Church. But our souls’ allegiance is to the ‘King of Kings” and to Him Who wears the miter of eternity.
J.I., addressing the Master Inquisitor: If this be not heresy and defection, by what name shall we call it?
M.I.: DeMolay, thy denials are useless, but we have listened to them with what patience we might command. Thine Order, it is true, hath been destroyed and thy riches for the most part taken from thee. Thou and thy companions are almost all that are left. But there are others and there still remains treasure thou art withholding from us. Thou hast defied the commands of thy King and Church to reveal the secrets of thy rich and powerful Order, to surrender all its property and disclose the identity of all thy brethren Thou hast been high, DeMolay, but now thou art low. Thou hast been all powerful, but now thou art impotent Thou hast been free, but now thou art in chains. Thou hast been surrounded by mighty friends, but now thou art alone. There is none to whom thou canst appeal for aid.
J.D.: Nay, Master Inquisitor, there is one higher than thou.
M.I., angrily: His name? Who is higher than we?
J.D.: The ever-living God.
M.I., sneeringly: Thy appeal to Him is vain as thou shalt see. Thy fate is in the hollow of our hands. We have seized thy riches, but thou canst reveal the secrets of thine Order and disclose the identity of the brethren who have eluded us. We can force others of thy brotherhood who are in our power to do this, but we prefer to deal first with thee Accede to our demands and thy life is saved. What is thine answer?
J.D.: Master Inquisitor, thou hadst thine answer ere thou didst conclude thy first infamous and impious words. I have sworn on mine honor to defend the secrets of my Order with my life. I have sworn on the hills of bright unstained swords and on the clasped hands of brave comrades to keep their names locked in my heart. Thy threats are vain. I cannot resist thy power, but I can and do defy it. That is mine answer, Inquisitor, though it were made with my final breath.
M.I., more conciliatingly: Nay, DeMolay, we do not desire thy life and we hold it only us the pawn of thy prudence. Thou hast been a brave foeman, thou hast a powerful following, but they are enemies of our Inquisition and we must know their names. We offer thee a rich share in the confiscated property of thine Order if thou wilt hand it over to us though we can hunt it out for ourselves in time. We will cover thee with honors as the reward of thy discretion. Why wilt thou reject this golden opportunity when we can punish without let or hindrance? Why wilt thou refuse a share when we can hold all? Why protect for a time those whom we shall in due season ferret out to the last man? Be sensible and recognize not only the futility of resistance, but the opportunity to save for thyself the prosperity, if not the rank and power, thou hast possessed.
J.D.: Master Inquisitor, thy temptations are more infamous than thy threats. The gold thou wouldst pay as my share of betrayal would burn my soul forever. The spirits of my brave comrades would haunt me through all eternity if I surrendered them to thy vengeance. Where I defied thee before, I despise thee now and fling back thy vile offers with my contempt.
M.I., in a rage: Jacques DeMolay beware! We are not wont to listen to insolence, from those unreservedly in our power. We shall give thee, however, another opportunity for reflection. Marshal of the Commission, you will conduct this stubborn fool to the Junior Inquisitor.
J.I., ingratiatingly: Jacques DeMolay, we would fain spare thy life, but our decrees are unalterable. Our purpose is fixed. Thou must realize thy helplessness before us. Thou must know how vital it is to our safely that thine Order should be rooted up and destroyed. Thou mayest call it betrayal, yet self-preservation is the first law of nature. Men could not blame thee didst thou purchase thy life with thy prudence, and in addition be richly rewarded.
J.D.: Junior Inquisitor, men might applaud my cowardice, though I doubt and deny there are any so base. Did I accede to thy demands, not only would I fall beneath mine own contempt, but by being false to my vows, I would deserve and receive the everlasting condemnation of my God. My answer is still the same and would be so didst thou give me ten thousand opportunities to change my mind.
J.I., furiously: To the rack with him! Sir Marshal, conduct this incredible fool to the Chamber of Torture and there give him a taste of the vengeance which he shall sup to the final bitter dregs if he still defies us. When the rack hath broken his bones, return him hither and we shall see if it hath rent his spirit.

G.A., rising and stepping forward: Master Inquisitor, before the vote is taken, I crave thy indulgence. Lest any doubt exist, I take my stand with my comrade and Grand Master, with whom I have fought as well as I might in behalf of our Holy Church and under the banner of our Sovereign. Whatever fate awaits Jacques DeMolay I not only accept, but claim for myself I deny each and all of the infamous charges that have been brought against our Order and ourselves, and I denounce, with our Grand Master, the barbarity that has slaughtered thousands of our brave comrades, rifled our riches to fill the coffers of our King and turned France into a shambles reeking with the blood of noble men.
M.I.: Guy of Auvergne, methinks thou hast placed thyself on a rack, if not on a gibbet, or worse, by thy treason and denance. Godfrey de Goneville and Hughes de Peralde, hath either of you anything to say?

Each rises, steps forward and bows in silence, accepting the verdict in advance. They, with G.A., then return to their former seats.
DeMolay is brought back supported between guards. The M.C presents him to the J.I.
M.C.: Sir Junior Inquisitor, your mandate has been obeyed. The accused has been subjected to the will of the torturer.
J.I., mildly: Jacques DeMolay, hast thou repented thee of the folly of thy defiance? Thou hast tasted the bitterness of the rack, but it is only one of the fangs wherewith our vengeance hath power to rend thee. Conic then, what is thine answer now?
J.D.: My answer, Inquisitor, is still the same. Thou art indeed brave to taunt a broken enemy. But though the rack may rend my bones, it cannot break the soul.
J.I.: Thy folly is so stupendous that I know not whether to admire or pity thy fortitude. Thy brethren cannot forever escape the trap wherein thou thyself hast been netted. Why not save thyself further anguish of the body
by giving them up to the fate that is surely theirs? All men save their lives at the cost of others. The enemy that opposes them in private quarrel or on the field of combat, the robber that waylays them, the very wolf that attacks them, they will slay to save themselves...
J.D., interrupting: Inquisitor, thou dost well to name the wolf and the robber, for they are guises thou and thy wolfish, robber brotherhood wear when they despoil the prosperous and ambush the defenseless...
J.I., interrupting: Jacques DeMolay, tempt us not too far! Art thou wholly a fool?
J.D.: Aye, Inquisitor a fool as thou dost look on wisdom. To thee and thy fellow conspirators against innocence and justice, it is folly to be true, unwise to be faithful, weak to be loyal and honorable. To thee and such as thou the bravest are the cruelest, the most honored the most treacherous, the most successful the most rapacious. Wreak thou thy will upon me for I despair of the Justice of men and even the face of God doth seem to be turned away. But with my latest breath I will still refuse to betray my comrades, or reveal the secrets of our Order, or fill thy coffers with our rightful riches.
J.I.: DeMolay, for the last time thou shalt have an opportunity to revise thine answer. Attend to my brother at the right of the Master Inquisitor.
S.I.: Jacques DeMolay, I could find it in my heart to admire thy steadfastness, but thy folly sweeps away my admiration. What incredible stubbornness is it that bids thee to defy the resistless, to resist the all powerful, to oppose thy puny will against thy King? Thou hast been stretched upon the rack, but there are other beds upon which we can make thee lie, and perchance thy rest shall be brief For the last time, wilt thou reveal the secrets of thine Order, hand over its undiscovered wealth and disclose the identity of thine unsuspected brethren?
J.D.:
Senior Inquisitor, though it were with my final breath my answer would be the
same. Thy taunts pass me by. The pangs of the body are sharp, but they are as
nothing to the anguish of a soul that hath betrayed a brother.
The rack may rend and break my body, but my spirit it cannot tear. My blood thou
canst shed, but mine immortal soul is beyond thy bloody grasp.
It cannot be reached by dagger, rack or sword. I defy and despise thee and all thy bloody and rapacious conspirators who would tempt men to betray their manhood and sink their souls to the level of the beasts that are thy mates. Even the gibbet and the stake...
L.C. enters in time to hear DeMolay’s last full sentence beginning “I defy and despise..”
L.C., breaking in furiously: Well dost thou name those last red fangs in the jaws of our vengeance. The King trusts not the toleration of the inquisition. The gibbet shall not be thine, but the stake shall claim thee and Guy of Auvergne within the hour. Mayhap its flames shall purge thee of thy stubbornness ere they have made ashes of thy flesh.
J.D.: Nay, Lord Constable, they shall purge my soul of all the weaknesses and defections of the flesh and on the bright red wings of fire my soul shall mount like the phoenix to Heaven, there to be judged by the everlasting God whom thou and thine impious brotherhood blaspheme With death’s fiery breath about me, I defy thee for the final time. Farewell!
L.C.: To the stake with them!

Chapters should devise a method for characters to exit whether the degree is performed on the stage or in a Lodge room. If on a stage, it is suggested that the curtain be lowered; if in a Lodge room, it us suggested that a short exit be devised, but the exit does not have to be a reversal of the order in which the characters entered. This will prevent the ending from being anticlimactic.
Second Section
If desired, a tableau depicting the burning of DeMolay and Guy of Auvergne at the stake may be used here. If a stake scene is used, it is suggested that both DeMolay and Auvergne be tied to the same stake in a final symbol of their brotherhood.
Third Section
Chapters are encouraged to create an impressive setting for the presentation of the Third Section. Two suggested scenes are here set forth.
1. Chapter room is arranged as on Diagram One. Such sceuiery or equipment as necessary to represent a monument to Jacques DeMolay should be placed on the dais in the East or on the level in front of the East. Lights are dim. Officers, except Mar, enter and form Triangle. They do not kneel at this point Orator leaves Triangle, goes to monument, faces West. Orator kneels but with head not bowed; other Officers kneel when Orator does. At conclusion of speech, Officers rise. Orator returns to his position in the Triangle. The scenery or monument is removed. As Orator enters Triangle, Mar enters Chapter room by door A, moves A I turns toward I and continues as shown on Diagram Four, Officers Taking Stations From Triangle, and proceeds with Fourth Section.

2. Chapter room should be cleared of the equipment from the First and Second Sections and arranged as on Diagram One, and darkened except for Altar spot if any, and candles. Two attendants carrying candles enter the room, followed by the Orator, who carries an urn. The three advance to the center and the first two separate and take positions on either side of the Altar, facing West. The Orator goes to the Altar and places the urn on it but not on the Bible. He then steps back, kneels on left knee but with head not bowed and delivers speech. At conclusion, Orator rises, steps forward and picks up urn. Attendants and Orator leave the room in the same order as upon entering.

Or.: We hail thee, noble martyr. May the light of thy funeral fires shine upon our lives and purify them by their radiance. As thou didst salute us and these times of ours, so we salute thee through the centuries that have gone. For nearly seven centuries, men have revered thy matchless heroism, thine unfaltering fidelity, and for countless years thy virtue shall inspire them. Jacques DeMolay was faithful unto death to the trust reposed in him, but the trials he endured with such fortitude would not have been necessary had he encountered toleration instead of superstitious fanaticism, courtesy from an enemy instead of brutal persecution from an unrelenting foe, appreciation of his exemplary qualities instead of cruelty which springs only from the exercise of irresponsible power working through unrestrained passion. You may never, my Brothers, be called upon to endure such persecutions as his, but toleration and fidelity are lessons which all must learn. We can accept among us only those who are willing to be tolerant in their opinions, courteous to their opponents, and above all things faithful to every trust reposed in them.

One of the greatest secrets of the ages is the true story of the Holy Grail, the robe of Jesus, the remains of the Cross of Crucifixion, and whether Jesus actually died or if he survived and produced a child. Many myths surround the Knights Templar concerning these relics, and most myths throughout history always have at least some basis in fact. If my sources are correct, the Knights Templar survive today as a branch of the Illuminati and guard the relics, which are hidden in a location known only to them.
We know that the Templars are Illuminati because the Freemasons absorbed and protected those that escaped persecution of the church and France, just as the Freemasons would absorb and protect Weishaupt's Illuminati centuries later. The Knights Templar exist today as a high degree of Freemasonry within the Templar Order. In fact, the Knights Templar is a branch of the Order of the Quest. The DeMolay Society is branch of the Freemasons that consecrates the memory of the persecution of the Knights Templar and in particular, their leader Jacques deMolay. I know, because I was a member of the DeMolay Society as a young adult. I loved the mystery and ritual. I became separated from the Society when my family moved to a location out of reach of any lodge. I believe to this day that my association with the DeMolay Society may have been the reason for my selection for Naval Security and Intelligence.
According to members of the intelligence community, when the New World Order is solidified the relics will be taken out, will be united with the Spear of Destiny, and will, according to legend, give the world's ruler absolute power. This may confirm beliefs passed down through the ages that describe the significance of these relics when united in the hands one man. It explains Hitler's desperate search World War II. (Gen. Patton had claimed it after defeat)
The Knights Templar were founded sometime during the 11th cent. in Jerusalem by the Prieure de Sion for the express purpose of guarding remaining relics of Jesus and to provide military protection for the religious travelers during their pilgrimage to the Holy City.
The Prieure de Sion was a religious order founded upon Mount Sion in Jerusalem. The Order set for itself the goal of preserving and recording the bloodline of Jesus and the House of David. Through every means available to them, the Prieure de Sion had found and retrieved the remaining relics. These relics were entrusted to the Knights Templar for safekeeping. I am amazed at the authors of Holy Blood, Holy Grail and the information that they have unearthed. Most of all I am amazed at their inability to put the puzzle together. The treasure hidden in France is not the treasure of the Temple of Jerusalem. It is the Holy Grail itself, the robe of Jesus, the last remmaining pieces of the Cross of Crucifixion, and, according to my sources, someone's bones. I can tell you that the reality of the bones will shake the world to its very foundations if I have been told the truth. The relics are hidden in France. I know the location and so do the authors of Holy Blood, Holy Grail, but they do not know that they know-- or do they?
Adam Weishaupt, a young professor of canon law at Ingolstadt University in Germany, was a Jesuit priest and an initiate of the Illuminati. The branch of the Order he founded in Germany in 1776 was the same Illuminati previously discussed. The Jesuit connection is important, as you will see later in this chapter. Researchers agree that he was financed by the House of Rothschild (mentioned in "Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars"). Weishaupt advocated "abolition of all ordered national governments, abolition of inheritance, abolition of private property, abolition of patriotism, abolition of the individual home and family life as the cell from which all civilizations have stemmed, and abolition of all religions established and existing so that the ideology of totalitarianism may be imposed on mankind."
In the same year that he founded the Illuminati he published Wealth of Nations, the book that provided the ideological foundation for capitalism and for the Industrial Revolution. It is no accident that the Declaration of Independence was written in the same year. On the obverse of the Great Seal of the United States the wise will recognize the all-seeing eye and other signs of the Brotherhood of the Snake.
Every tenet was the same. Date and beliefs confirm that Weishaupt's Illuminati is the same as the Afghan Illuminated Ones and the other cults which called themselves "illuminated." The Alumbrados of Spain were the same as were the "illuminated" Guerinets of France. In the United States they were known as the Jacobin clubs. Secrets within secrets within secrets--but always at the heart is the Brotherhood.
I believe that Weishaupt was betrayed and set up for persecution because he ignored the rule that the word "illuminati" or the existence of the Brotherhood would never be exposed to public knowledge. His exposure and outlawing accomplished several goals of the still-hidden and still very powerful brotherhood. It allowed members to debunk claims of its existence on the grounds that the Illuminati had been exposed and outlawed and thus was no longer a reality. It allowed members to deny allegations of conspiracy of any kind. The Brotherhood of the Snake is adept at throwing out decoys to keep the dogs at bay. Weishaupt may have been a fool--or he may have been doing exactly what he was told.
Weishaupt said, "The great strength of our Order lies in its concealment; let it never appear in its own name, but always covered by another name, and another occupation."
Allegations that the Freemason organizations were infiltrated by the Illuminati during Weishaupt's reign are hogwash. The Freemasons have always contained the core of Illuminati within their ranks, and that is why they so freely and so willingly took in and hid the members of Weishaupt's group. You cannot really believe that the Freemasons, if they were only a simple fraternal organization, would have risked everything, including their very lives, by taking in and hiding outlaws who had been condemned by the monarchies of Europe. It is mainly Freemason authors who have perpetuated the myth that Adam Weishaupt was the founder of the Illuminati and that the Illuminati was destroyed, never to surface again.
In 1826 an American Freemason wrote a book revealing Masonic secrets entitled llustrations of Freemasonry. One of the secrets that he revealed is that the last mystery at the top of the Masonic pyramid is the worship of Lucifer. We have since learned the secret of the "story of the murder of Hiram Abif." Hiram Abif represents intelligence, liberty and truth, and was struck down by a blow to the neck with a rule, representing the suppression of speech by the church; then he was struck in the heart with the square, representing the suppression of belief by the State; and finally he was struck on the head by a maul, representing the suppression of intellect by the masses. Freemasonry thus equates the Church, the State, and the masses with tyranny, intolerance, and ignorance. What Morgan revealed was that the Freemasons were pledged to avenge Hiram Abif and that their plan was to strike down the Church, the State, and the freedom of the masses.
Morgan caused a small uproar against the Masons. The small uproar turned into a full blown anti-Freemason movement when the author, William Morgan, disappeared. Morgan had apparently been abducted and drowned in Lake Ontario. It was alleged that fellow Masons had done it, and that they deny to this day. Who else would have done it? I believe they murdered him. The newspapers of the time state without reservation that he was murdered by Masons. The oath of initiation into the Freemasons states that if secrets are told, the initiate will be murdered. A nationwide furor ensued that resulted in the creation of an anti-Masonic political party in 1829 by Henry Dana Ward, Thurlow Weed, and William H. Seward. Interest in several anti-Masonic books was revived during that period, with the result that Freemasonry suffered a severe loss of membership. It lasted only a few years and by 1840 the anti-Masonic party was extinct. Time really does cure all ills.
We know that the British Freemasons are a totally self-serving group that discriminates in favor of its own whenever jobs, promotions, contracts, or careers are concerned. The English Freemason organization was used by the KGB to infiltrate and take over British Intelligence. British Intelligence is synonomous with Chatham House, more commonly known as the Royal Institute for International Affairs, the parent organization of the Council on Foreign Relations in the United States. The English state police, Scotland Yard, ordered its personnel not to join the Masons for fear the same would happen to them. Of course, you have been told all your life that the Freemasons are only a benevolent fraternal organization bent only on community service. Read on, O innocent one.
Probably the most notorious Freemason lodge is the P2 lodge in Italy. This group has been implicated in everything from bribery to assassinations. P2 is directly connected to the Vatican, the Knights of Malta, and to the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. It is powerful and dangerous. The P2 lodge has succeeded in infiltrating the Vatican and has scored a coup of tremendous significance: the Pope, John Paul II, has lifted the ban against Freemasonry. Many high-level members of the Vaticanare now Freemasons.
I tell you now that Freemasonry is one of the most wicked and terrible organizations upon this earth. The Masons are major players in the struggle for world domination. The 33rd Degree is split into two. One split contains the core of the Luciferian Illuminati and the other contains those who have no knowledge of it whatsoever.
ALL of the intelligence officers that I worked for while in Naval Intelligence were Masons. As I stated before, I believe that my association with the DeMolay Society as a young adult may have been the reason that I was selected for Naval Security and Intelligence. However, that is only a guess.
I had intended to go into great detail linking P2, the Prieure de Sion, the Vatican, the CIA, organizations for a United Europe, and the Bilderberg Group. Fortunately, Michael Baigent, Righard Leigh & Henry Lincoln beat me to it. I say fortunately, because they confirm my previous allegation that I published in my paper "The Secret Government" that the CIA had plants, called moles, deep within the Vatican. You must read Holy Blood, Holy Grail and The Messianic Legacy, both by Baigent, Leigh, & Lincoln. Any reputable bookstore should carry them. Between pages 343 and 361 of The Messianic Legacy you can read of the alliance of power that resulted in a secret world government.
Most members of the Freemasons are not aware that the Illuminati practices what is known as "secrets within secrets," or organizations within organizations- That is one purpose of initiation. I cannot excuse any of the members, however, or anyone who joins a society without knowing everything about the organization is indeed a fool. Only those at the top who have passed every test truly know what the Masons are hiding, thus rendering it impossible for anyone outside to know much at all about the group. What does that say about new members or those who are already members but do not know the ultimate secrets? It tells me that fools abound. Unlike authors who out of fear have acted as apologists for the Freemasons, I decline to absolve them of responsibility and guilt. The Freemasons, like everyone else, are responsible for the cleanliness of their home. The occupant of a secret house within a secret house within a secret house cannot clean if he cannot see the number of rooms or what they contain. Their house is a stinking cesspool. Look to the Masons for the guilty party if anything happens to me. I believe that they have murdered in the past and that they will murder in the future.
Their goal is to rule the world. The doctrine of this group is not democracy or communism, but is a form of fascism. The doctrine is totalitarian socialism. You must begin to think correctly. The Illuminati are not Communists, but some Communists are Illuminati. (1) Monarchism (thesis) faced democracy (antithesis) in WWI, which resulted in the formation of communism and the League of Nations (synthesis). (2) Democracy and communism (thesis) faced fascism (antithesis) in WWII and resulted in a more powerful United Nations (synthesis). (3) Capitalism (thesis) now faces communism (antithesis) and the result will be the New World Order, totalitarian socialism (synthesis).
The 1953 report of the California Senate Investigating Committee on Education stated: "So-called modern Communism is apparently the same hypocritical world conspiracy to destroy civilization that was founded by the illuminati, and that raised its head in our colonies here at the critical period before the adoption of our Constitution." The California Senate understood that communism is the work of the Illuminati. They failed to realize that the Council on Foreign Relations and theTrilateral Commission are also the work of the Illuminati. You MUST begin to think correctly. The enemy is not communism, it is Illuminism. The Communists are not going to be much happier with the New World Order than we.
I hope to show that most modern secret societies and especially those that practice degrees of initiation, and that is the key, are really one society with one purpose. You may call them whatever you wish--the Order of the Quest, the JASON Society, the Roshaniya, the Qabbalah, the Knights Templar, the Knights of Malta, the Knights of Columbus, the Jesuits, the Masons, the Ancient and Mystical Order of Rosae Crucis, the Illuminati, the Nazi Party, the Communist Party, the Executive Members of the Council on Foreign Relations, The Group, the Brotherhood of the Dragon, the Rosicrucians, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, the Trilateral Commission, the Bilderberg Group, the Open Friendly Secret Society (the Vatican), the Russell Trust, the Skull & Bones, the Scroll & Key, the Order--they are all the same and all work toward the same ultimate goal, a New World Order.
Many of them, however, disagree on exactly who will rule this New World Order, and that is what causes them to sometimes pull in opposite directions while nevertheless proceeding toward the same goal. The Vatican, for instance, wants the Pope to head the world coalition. Some want Lord Maitreya to head the New World Order. Lord Maitreya is the front runner, I believe, since witnesses say he was present on the ship at Malta with Bush, Gorbachev, and the ten regional heads of the New World Order. "Approximately 200 dignitaries from around the world attended a major conference initiated by Maitreya in London on April 21 and 22,1990. Representatives of governments (including the USA), members of royal families, religious leaders and journalists, all of whom had met with Maitreya previously, attended the conference." Quote from "Prophecy Watch" column of Whole Wheat No. 8, Minneapolis.
Someone has also spent an awful lot of money announcing his presence. The Pope will have to approve him if Maitreya is selected, however, and that would fulfill the Bible prophecy in the Book of Revelation that states that the first beast will be given his power by Rome. If you can interpret Revelation as I can, then you know that the Pope will ultimately win out and will reign as the second beast. In 1952 an alliance was formed, bringing them all together for the first time in history. The Black Families, the Illuminati (the Order), the Vatican, and the Freemasons now work together to bring about the New World Order. All will protest their innocence and will do everything within their power to destroy anyone who suggests otherwise. I will undoubtedly become a target when this book is published.
You may notice that some of those listed in the preceding paragraphs do not, or so it appears, practice degrees of initiation. That is the public view. Look at the Council on Foreign Relations. Many members--in fact, the majority--never serve on the executive committees. They never go through any initiation of any kind. They are, in fact, the power base and are used to gain a consensus of opinion. The majority are not really members but are made to feel as if they are. In reality they are being used and are unwilling or unable to understand. The Executive Committee is an inner core of intimate associates, members of a secret society called the Order of the Quest, also known as the JASON Society, devoted to a common purpose. The members are an outer circle on whom the inner core acts by personal persuasion, patronage and social pressure. That is how they bought Henry Kissinger. Rockefeller gave Kissinger a grant of $50,000 in the early '50s, a fortune in those days, and made dear old Henry a member of the CFR. I have found that members of these two societies were chosen on an ongoing basis by invitation based upon merit post-college and were not confined to only Harvard or Yale attendees.
Only members of the Order are initiated into the Order of the Quest, the JASON Society that makes up the executive members of the Council on Foreign Relations and, in fact, the Trilateral Commission as well.
