Introduction
After a slow start in the 2006 season, the crop circle formations became incredible. This is the start of a planned series of articles about the 2006 formations. I am starting this article (4 August 2006), with the great crop circle formation that appeared at Wayland Smithy, reported 8 July 2006. My plan is to add other articles to the series, showing evidence that many if not most of the crop circles over may years are related to the Tree of Life, especially as it relates to the chakra system. There are many clues that the message is about an evolutionary change in The Tree and the chakras, as it relates to humanity.

As with the 2005 crop circle season, I will be featuring in these articles various postings to the Crop Circle Connector Forum. This is the first posting about the Wayland Smithy formation:
Posted: Fri Jul 28, 2006 4:36 pm I prepared a posting for this Forum soon after I saw the report of the Wayland Smithy "skyscrapers." Unfortunately, my posting would not show up. I thought I made the post later, but I was mistaken. Wiz-Oz informed me on 26 July of his 22 July posting, where he mentioned the New Jerusalem and 432. He provided more information that seemed to confirm the New Jerusalem connection. The follow is the writing that I intended to post around 9 July. The cubic formation that appeared at Wayland Smithy, near Ashbury, Oxfordshire. around 8 July 06, may be related to the twelve-fold New Jerusalem, as the Order of Heaven made apparent on Earth. Squares and cubes generally represent manifestation on the Earth plane reality. Around the third week in July, I found a link on the Crop Circle Connector site to Zef Damen's reconstruction of the 2006 Wayland Smithy crop formation. I found it fabulous, and a strong confirmation of the New Jerusalem Plan connection:

Posted: Mon Jul 18, 2005 8:00 pm My previous post had some information about Metatron's Cube. On one of the linked pages, the geometry is shown to be a hypercube. The idea is to show more than three dimensions by depicting a cube inside a cube. It is called a Tesseract:

Another part seemed to be Drake's equation, which estimates intelligent life in the Universe. Two of the graphics, including the hypercube, seemed to show the Orion constellation upside down, as it appears in the Southern hemisphere. Orion is shown on the surface of the outer cube. Our solar system is shown on the surface of the inner cube. A worm hole seems to project from a star in Orion's belt to the planet Earth. This would be the left-most star, as seen from the Northern hemisphere, Zeta Orionis. A similar type of symbolic message has come to others:

It is noteworthy that there is a Vesica Pisces symbol atop Chalice Well at Glastonbury. Legend has it that the Holy Grail is at the bottom of that well.

There is a similarity of the 2006 snowflake formation to the Waylands Smithy formation, in that the underlying twelve-pointed star pattern is within both formations. The four overlapping triangles or double Star of David can be drawn within both. Interestingly, the inner part of the Boxley snowflake formation indicates three overlapped boxes. This may correspond to the three sets of "skyscraper buildings" of Waylands Smithy.
The New Jerusalem is generally figured as four sets of three. This is said to be based on the Twelve Tribes of Israel in their camp positions given in Numbers 2, and the symbols of the tribes given in Genesis 49. There are four main tribes and two minor tribes in each quadrant. The four main tribes are the "Four Living Creatures" of Ezekiel, that correspond to the solstices and equinoxes during the Age of Tarus. The "Four Living Creatures" are lion, man, eagle, and ox, corresponding to Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio, and Tarus.

This follows the idea of the "heavens" in the trigons of the Zodiac.

This may be part of the meaning of the "quintuplet set" type crop circle, which some associate with the Celtic Cross. Another 2006 crop formation may be an additional hint that this is the case. It appeared at Ceresole d'Alba - Sommariva Bosco (Cuneo), Italy around 19 July:

The word, "equinox," means "equal nights." This refers to the spring and fall equinoxes, when the hours of day and night are equal. This seems to be illustrated in the above image as the small spheres on the left and right, that are half white and half black. It reminds me a bit of the "Monkey Face" type formations.
Interestingly, the set of four small outer circles, along with the triangle of three small circles in the center, follow the general form of the two twelve-fold (4 x 3 and 3 x 4) formations discussed above.

Scholars note that the cube has 12 edges, and that the description given by Saint John in Revelation 21:15-17 indicate a cube:
And he who talked to me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. The city lies foursquare, its length the same as its breadth; and he measured the city with his rod, twelve thousand stadia; its length and breadth and height are equal. He also measured its wall, a hundred and forty-four cubits by a man's measure, that is, an angel's. |
The 12 "skyscraper buildings" of the Wayland Smithy formation, may figure as 12 cubic rectangles times 12 edges each, giving the ancient Gematrian number 144, meaning Light. Note also, above, that 144 cubits is the measure of the wall of the New Jerusalem.

Symbolism in the Locations
Many crop circle formations may be located near ancient site in order to transmit a more complete message. Wayland is a figure in Norse mythology, the Saxon god of metal working:

Wayland is the same as Volundr or Volund, who is described in Norse myth, recorded from Iceland in the form of a poem. Volundr is a smith of outstanding quality, his work is so prized that a vain king called Niduth lames him and sets him to work on an island. In revenge Volundr kills the King's two greedy sons, fashioning goblets from their skulls. He then rapes the King's daughter, and fashions wings with which he escapes from the Island. Before he flies off to Valhalla he lands on the archway of the palace and reveals the nature of his revenge to the King and his subjects. It is likely that this myth travelled with the Anglo Saxons, and the tomb became associated with Wayland because of its uncanny quality. It is well known that the art of the smith was shrouded in secrecy, legend and magic, and many ancient monuments became attributed to supernatural figures. Volundr is also associated with labyrinths, and it has been suggested that the resemblance of the dilapidated tomb to a labyrinth may have led to its association with the smith god. Traditionally, Wayland still inhabited the mound and was ready to shoe a horse. The horse had to be left at the mound alone for a short period, along with the payment of a silver coin. On returning the horse would have been shod and the payment would have disappeared. |
The symbolism of the craftsman - builder -smith is universal, an archetype. The metal worker is a primary type. Wayland sounds quite similar to the Greek Hephaistos, who is the Roman Vulcan. The Biblical metal worker is said to be Tubal Cain, who fashioned the sacrificial knife of Abraham.
We have discussed this type of symbolism in our work. It seems to be related to the swastika and the demiurge, who seems to represent the consciousness gestalt of mankind. See:
Excerpt from Prior to my study of ancient symbols, I had a dream of a counterclockwise Swastika. Energy was flowing from the center, out into the arms. A voice said,
I later found Swastikas in The Sacred Symbols of Mu. Five illustrations on page 78 show how the swastika evolved from the cross. In this case, the Swastika is counterclockwise. James Churchward wrote that the arms of the Swastika are formed by glyphs called "Builder." These "L" - shapes are "two-sided squares," like the tool used by carpenters, masons, and other craftsmen. It was called a Mason's Square by the Masonic brotherhood. Four of the glyphs in the form of the Swastika indicate "the Four Great Builders of the Universe." The two-sided square glyph is on many of Niven's Mexican tablets. In ancient Egypt it became a symbol of justice and uprightness. Two forms of this type are shown on page 225, one from the Mound Builders and the other from Niven's tablet number 1231. These two are clockwise Swastikas, which indicate moving from west to east. It is a "Good Luck" symbol. [skip] My dreams and coincidences indicated that the Demiurge god is symbolised by the Swastika, and represents the consciousness gestalt of mankind. The Demiurge god is a deity subordinate to the Supreme Deity, as creator of the physical world. He is often symbolised by craftsmen. He can do "good or evil." My experiences indicated that the counterclockwise Swastika symbolizes negative, yet learning, experiences, and that the clockwise Swastika symbolizes positive experiences. The Swastika can be formed by the "L" - like shape, meaning "builder," or by curved horns. I was astonished later, when I found the following verses in Zechariah:

It may well be that the message of the Wayland Smithy formation is about mankind reversing its negative cycle, and turning toward a bright and abundant future, in terms of the symbolism of building the New Jerusalem, the Order of the Heavens made apparent on earth.
The symbolism involved here is quite like the Masonic tradition, which apparently connects back to the Knights Templar. This is not the first crop formation that seemed to hint at such a connection. These days, conspiracy theories tend to dominate when the Masonic subject comes up. Perhaps some of the theories are justified, I do not know. However, the basic symbolism, in my mind, is not a bad thing, as one might surmise from the paragraph above.
The Boxley formation may have the same type of connection in its location near the ruins of the12th century Cistercian Abbey. The Cistercian Monastic Order is said to have been greatly enhanced by Bernard Of Clairvaux, a major figure among the Knights Templar.

Is it a meaningless coincidence that the snowflake formation at Boxley is near Maidstone? I think not! The location meaning just could suggest the Philosopher's Stone.
Several of the images within Kris's article also connect well with Wayland's Smithy, such as the 1997 hexagon near stonehenge. There is an X type shape with a vertical line through it, as parts of the Star of David, which may fit with the symbolism of the Arrow of Ra, expressed in Trevor's insightful article:

The location of Great Britain itself, as the primary place of crop circles, may also carry symbolism. Part of this involves the Lost Tribes, the legends of King Arthur and the Holy Grail. The Covenant given to Abraham is said by some to have been fulfilled through the sons of Joseph, the eleventh son of Jacob/Israel. The older son was Manasseh, the younger son was Ephraim. The two became the great nations of the USA and Great Britain.

Ephraim, who was to become a company of nations, had the ox as his symbol, indicating the association with the Earth sign Zodiac sign of Tarus. It may be more than meaningless coincidence that Wayland Smithy is located in Oxfordshire!

Again, I am afraid that most of my material about Joseph is only in Hebrew as yet. But let me throw in a snippet about the cube and about Joseph. As you may well know, the number 26 has some special importance in the Hebrew Bible (gematria of the Tetragramaton YHWH). But gematrias are mostly meaningless if they have no geometry aspect. 26 is the number of directions in cubic (3D) space. A 3x3x3 = 27 cube has a central cube and 26 surrounding cubes (also, correspondingly, the cube has 26 elements - 6 sides, 12 edges and 8 vertices). Now the Biblical Hebrew names of the three generations: Isaac, Jacob and Joseph have gematria of 208, 186 and 156, that is 26x8, 26x7 and 26x6. What could these further mean? I regard "Yoseph" (literally "will increase/add" as the likely Christian/Western addition to the New Israel, and am inclined to think these represent relative portions in the whole (cycle) of 26x12 = 312 divisions. Joseph has no majority share but just parity, which would make him more agile. I'd be happy to learn of what you make of that and what do you find in the name and figure of Joseph. In amity

There is more, some quite specific to the posters on your site. But I know you are busy, so I will cut it off here. I am familiar with John Michell, and his association with the crop circles. Some crop circles have appeared near sites associated with the Knights Templar, who are said to have a connection to the Masons. I also read that the Templars learned most of their secret knowledge from the Sufi in the Holy Land. There is a lot of "double boxes" type crop circles, which is like the Sufi patterns, especially the Breath of the Compassionate. Regards,

Lion Kings = Conscious Co-Creators Symbols of king, lion, and royal power are significant. They are related to the Grail Bloodline, and are major symbols of the great change. This traces back to Genesis 38, where Judah (the King and lion's whelp) has sex with his daughter-in-law, Tamar, who tricked him by dressing up as a harlot. It relates to the kings of the earth who fornicate with the harlot in Revelation 17. They become drunk on her wine, which evokes fury. They give over their "ROYAL POWER" to the beast. God has put it into their hearts to carry out His purpose (Rev. 17:17). The kings of the earth make a change, and bring their glory into The New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:24). A CROWN is worn by a KING. If one lets another seize their crown, it is like giving over their ROYAL POWER to the beast. The Rev. 3:11 verse seems to be speaking to everyone, not just "real" kings. The advice seems to be that we need to be careful in believing the authority of other people. I believe this is supported by certain verses of Isaiah
Some dreams of today still have this "planting/eating" and "house building" symbolism. So, it seems, part of the message about the change is that people will learn to go by their own authority, rather than follow others. I do think this process started many years ago and will continue. The Word Wide Web will probably make it go faster. A Templar-related story illustrates the point.
In one of the sayings in the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas, Jesus says (something like):
The "Pollen Path" articles tell the story of how dreams and coincidences led me to the theory that humanity has been on a path through the chakras, and that the 3 1/2 midpoint is the key. The harlot is related to the lower three chakras, especially the third. She is seated upon many waters, which are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues (Rev. 17:15). This may represent an energy that pervades everything in the difficult time cycle. The harlot is very similar in meaning to Kali. See:
Tamasisk - Anger - Fury The beast and harlot are related to ten horns (see Rev. 17:16). The third chakra is symbolized by a lotus flower with ten petals. See:
Humanity On The Pollen Path The leap to the fourth - Heart chakra seems to be suggested by the twelve stars on the crown of The Woman With Child of Rev. 12:1, and by The New Jerusalem (Rev. 21), which has twelve gates, angels, gemstones, and pearls. The Heart chakra is symbolized by a lotus flower with 12 petals. Dreams of being in or under the water, or underground, seem to suggest the unconscious, the collective unconscious, the dream realm, or the spirit realm. In Jung's system water is related to emotions. The Hopi creation myth of Spider Grandmother seems to have the same meaning, expressed a bit differently. The depiction on my Pollen Path page shows that there are three chambers underground, with a tunnel up to the surface and daylight. The myth tells how the creator put insects into the first chamber and told them to find out the meaning of life. They are helped by Spider Grandmother to the next level, where they become animals. She helps again in the next cycle, and the animals become humans in the third chamber. Finally, she comes again, along with birds, and the people climb up through the tunnel to the surface. She then teaches us how "to weave." In the Nordic myth of the Yggdrasil World Tree, the Norns of Fate weave at one of the underground roots. Notice that the final climb in the Hopi myth was at the 3 1/2 point. In terms of the chakra levels of consciousness, the first three were underground, again suggesting the unconscious. Other material, including Biblical verses, indicate that we are co-creators of the reality. Humanity en masse seems to be the demiurge co-creator, symbolized by the swastika. This is related to the four smiths (or carpenters) who cast down the four horns in Zechariah 1:18-21 -
The Babylonian demiurge hero, Marduk, chased down the Storm Bird Zu (anger-fury), who had stolen the tablets with the fates of men. He caught the bird and retrieved the tablets. Putting this all together now - it seems that in the time cycle, mankind is co-creating from the unconscious, symbolized by the water or underground. Many dreams and myths show a descent into the underground and a return. Our fates have been stolen, so-to-speak. Returning to the surface or recovering the tablets with the fates of men, indicate that the kings of the earth will become conscious co-creators. This will happen when we pass the 3 1/2 point and reach the Heart chakra. The kings will recover their crowns, royal power, and kingdoms. They will learn how "to weave" their own "fate." The inspired film, "The Lion King," presented these ideas with an Egyptian theme. The Father Lion is Osiris, who is killed by his brother Scar/Typhon Set. The young Lion is Horus, who sees his Father in the stars, i.e., Orion. The Shaman-Baboon is Thoth. Art Bell radio show with Stan Freedman...caller told of a UFO that became the New Jerusalem. They had no idea of the meaning, yet it is all over the place in the crop circles. There was a very interesting article in The Cerealogist #3, the Spring 1991 issue, on page 15. It was written by Hazel Eddleston. There were seven diagrams with the article. One of the diagrams was a drawing of the Winterbourne Stoke formation. Another drawing showed marks representing energy points found by dowsing within the crop formation. I was quite amazed when I read the story and saw the diagram of "The New Jerusalem Plan." In my dream on October 18, 1990, there were twelve circles in a ring. One of the stars that I drew, based on my splice box dream and the Navaho sand painting, had twelve points, and formed four overlapping triangles, much like the depiction above. The "coincidence" of seeing the two depictions side-by-side in the Myth book of the Buddhist Mandala and the Navaho sand painting seemed to connect the the two types of symbols together - one with circles in a ring, and the other, star shapes. My own dreams and coincidences seemed to focus on the same type of symbols. With a lump in my throat, I found a Bible and read Revelation 21. I had never been a Christian, but I now felt that my experiences were leading me to the Bible. My dreams and "coincidental" experiences continued, and began to include various passages in the Bible. |
