IMPRISONED
5-30-02 - DREAM - I was in my apartment at the computer. It had about a 24" screen. I planned to print out the website and all its links. I began the process, then went to another computer that didn't have a printer connected to it to do some other work while the printing was going on from the other computer. I'm not sure why this happened to me but it seems like it was a set-up situation. Larry King, (the TV news interviewer) and some other guys came in and they convinced me it would be best to cooperate with them. As it was, Larry King was very kind to me, but I was told if I didn't let him do what he wanted with me, I'd be in big trouble. I thought submitting to this was better than the 'trouble'. We were sitting on a narrow bed and I separated my mind from my body while he did with my body what he wanted. He's an old man, so he couldn't do everything and just used his hands. I was looking at some handwriting on the wall while he was doing this, and I noticed that I was dressed like an exotic dancer. When he was done with me, he put on a white bathrobe, and gave me a robe to put on as well. I stood up to put on the robe and some skinny, icky looking guy from across the hall took my picture with a camera. I felt very violated by that because I didn't know where that picture would end up - out of my control. I couldn't do anything about it though, and another man took me into a room where my friend R. was sitting on a bed. A doctor was with him and they were fitting him with leg braces all the way to his hips. When they took him back to prison, he wouldn't have to be in his wheelchair anymore. He could walk. It was then I found out that I was being arrested too, so I got the 'trouble' after all, though I don't know what I did. I thought I had cooperated well. They let me stay with R until he was ready to leave, then we all walked down the hall together. R was with his jailers, and another group went with me, including a friend of Larry King who acted like he was in love with me. He was hanging onto my left hand as we walked fast down the hall, talking about how we were going to communicate because he didn't know where they were taking him, and I didn't know where they were taking me either. So, we decided we'd find each other eventually through e-mail if we kept up our e-mail names over time. They took R away and then some women grabbed me and took me to the jail which was in the city. I must have done something minor because they weren't going to transfer me to the women's prison upstate, I would be staying right here in the city. As it was, it was plenty scary. Right as we got there, some missiles were armed and stood at the ready to shoot at a moments notice. These missiles were painted red, white, and blue, and were about 6 feet long, thin and very pointy. I think there were 9 of them. When the missiles came up on their stands, ready to shoot, I dropped to the floor so I'd be under any shooting that went on and so did some of the other women who were there. But nobody shot anything right then, and the female guard grabbed me by the hand and walked me up some steep concrete steps to the 2nd floor where my jail cell was. As we walked in the door, who would walk by was Janet Carlson, my most dire rival. She gave me a look that could make you curl up and die and I knew I was going to have to face her in here. I was taken to my cell which seemed to be right in the middle of this huge concrete block area. The ceilings seemed to be about 50 feet high. My cell which was 12 x 12 feet square had 2 cots in it and I would share it with another woman and there was no privacy. Some other women were in a cell by the wall and that looked more like a dormitory situation. Some of the women in there looked kinda tough, so I was glad they put me where they did. Thank God for small blessings. Then they told me I was going to have to go speak at a high school and give a talk on 'success'. On of the women gave me a small prop which was a small record player about 4" across which had 4 or 5 small maroon colored records in it which I could show and a small speech which was short, but eloquent. (I wish I remembered it) Then they brought in the make-up woman to make me up and gave me a dancer's costume in which I was expected to expose myself. I think they thought this was to humiliate me, but I knew I was a success in life even though I was in jail. The woman started to put the make-up on me. It was theatre make-up, thick and gaudy. She showed me my face in the mirror. I was astounded to see that I didn't look like myself. I had a long thin aquiline nose and dark long curly hair. I looked stunningly beautiful. They drove me to the school then which was beyond the end of the road and when the pavement ended, we drove out onto some concrete slabs that were laying loose on top of rubble. It looked like the end of the world. We went into the school and I was trying to rehearse my little speech by writing down what I was going to say and diagramming my little act on cards, including how I was going to count the records, 1, 2, 3, 4. etc. While I was doing that, three cute young men came into the room who were also going to perform and they showed me their diagram of what they were going to do.
All their dance steps were numbered too, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and they were all aligned to the right. They actually looked like sun rays. |
5-30-02 - DREAM - I was on my way to night school. It seemed like I was flying high over Milwaukee, WI and I saw that the valley in the center of the downtown area was flooding. It wasn't coming down river, the flood was coming up the valley from Lake Michigan until the whole valley was flooded and I could see the whole valley was flooded and shining in the moonlight.
I couldn't stop though because I was going to learn the five laws of freedom. |
5-30-02 - DREAM - DISCOVERING FREEDOM - I was at home, getting dressed for school. I was wearing a dress of a color I would call 'light old rose', with matching shoes and stockings.
I kept taking time out to play a game with my toddler son, but I couldn't just play games. I had to go to school. I had received some advertising from a dear woman, who sent me a copy of the advance course in Kabbalah. It had the final exam in the package so it was an open-book test to graduate. I was so excited to get this book. It was yellow - at least 6" thick and about 1 1/2 feet tall. I HAD to learn the 5 laws of freedom. I just had to. I went back to where my son was still playing with the game. (hand-held electronic type) I had to take it away from him because he couldn't play it alone while I was gone. There was an ironing board there with 2 irons on - one on each end, where I had pressed my dress. I knew the iron could fall off the ironing boards and hurt my son if he jostled the ironing board, so I laid both irons down flat on the wide end of the board, then I had to leave for school. It was getting late. It was 8:40 a.m. and class started at 9 a.m. My son started to scream for the game as soon as I took it from him, but I had to ignore the screaming. He could not play the game alone while I was in school. So I went outside and started walking up the street - my sons' screams were still echoing in my ears because he wanted to play the game. This was the hardest thing I ever did, was to hear my son screaming behind me as I headed for the school. I went several blocks and the screaming behind me was fading, but now I was hearing the screaming of a child in front of me, coming from the school. I hurried on to the school to find out what was wrong. I walked into the school and there sat the teacher, wearing a stark black and white dress, trying to feed my two year old son Stephen cake soaked in milk. He was sitting in his high-chair, screaming at the top of his lungs. The teacher was saying to me, feeling guilty it seemed, "Your son Stephen will not drink his wine." I said to her, "We don't give wine to babies at home, do we Stephen?" The teacher said, "We knew that, so we put it in the cake." And suddenly Stephen started eating the cake as fast as he could as soon as he saw me. At least the screaming had stopped now.
I went into the classroom and there were my study books on Kabbalism - they were golden - and I knew that when I was done with this course, I would be a teacher of Kabbalism and made me SO happy. I woke up filled with JOY! |
THE REVELATION OF ST. JOHN THE DIVINE
Chapter 11 - (A verse-by-verse study)
- Eighty-four. So now, we've seen three time periods that are identified with the final tribulation -- 70 years, 23 years and 3 1/2 days -- with God putting especially heavy emphasis on the number 23. Although these time periods seem to be altogether unrelated, they in fact have something in common. They are all linked to the number 84, which itself is symbolically important. Eighty-four is the product of 7 times 12. Seven, of course, represents perfection, and 12, as we noted above, represents the fullness of God's plan, especially as it relates to believers. So, 84 really stands for the perfect consummation of God's salvation plan for all those whom God has chosen to save. And the final tribulation is really the beginning of the end of God's program. But how are those three numbers linked to 84? Well, seventy years have 840 months; three and a half days have 84 hours; and twenty-three years have exactly 8,400 days! (There are five leap years in 23 years. So, 23 years x 365 days + 5 days = 8,395 days + 5 days = 8,400 days.) This is not just a coincidence. The mathematical odds for all three time periods having a common denominator in 84 are far too great to be accidental. Rather, it shows once more how wisely God has written the Bible to reveal truths to us. |

SLAVE WOMEN NAHUM - THE VISION - THE LORD GIVES FREEDOM - THE DESTRUCTION OF NINEVEH FROM: http://www.mkjvonline.com/mkjv/nah.htm Nahum 1:1 The burden against Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite. 2 God is jealous, and the LORD revenges; the LORD revenges and is a possessor of wrath. The LORD takes vengeance against His foes, and He keeps wrath against His enemies. 3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power. And He does not by any means acquit the guilty. The LORD has His way in the tempest and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet. 4 He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers; Bashan and Carmel wither, and the flower of Lebanon withers. 5 The mountains quake from Him, and the hills melt, and the earth is lifted up from before Him; even the world and all who dwell in it. 6 Who can stand before His fury? And who can stand up in the heat of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken down because of Him. 7 The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him. 8 But with an overflowing flood He will make an utter end of its place, and darkness shall pursue His enemies. 9 What are you plotting against the LORD? He will make an utter end; affliction shall not rise up the second time. 10 For as thorns are woven together, and as their drunkards are drunken, they shall be devoured like stubble fully dry. 11 One who devises evil against the LORD has come forth from you, one counseling worthlessness. 12 So says the LORD: Though secure and likewise many, yet they shall be cut down, and he shall pass away. And though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more. 13 For now I will break his yoke off you, and will burst your bonds apart. 14 And the LORD has commanded concerning you, Not one of your name shall be sown any more; I will cut off the graven image and the molten image out of the house of your gods. I will make your grave; for you are despised. 15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of Him who brings good news, making it heard, Peace! O Judah, keep your appointed feasts, fulfill your vows; for the wicked shall pass through you no more; he is completely cut off. Nahum 2: 1 The scattering one is coming up against your face. Guard the rampart. Watch the way, make your loins strong, firm up your power mightily. 2 For the LORD has turned away the glory of Jacob, as the glory of Israel. For the plunderers have plundered them, and have destroyed their vine branches. 3 The shield of his mighty ones has become red; the mighty men are in scarlet; the chariots flame like iron torches in the day of his preparation. And the cypresses are made to quiver. 4 The chariots race madly in the streets; they shall run to and fro in the open squares. Their appearance is like torches; they dart about like lightnings. 5 He shall remember his nobles; they shall stumble in their walking; they shall make haste to its wall, and the covering shall be prepared. 6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be melted. 7 And she who stood firm is uncovered and caused to go away. And her slave women are moaning like the sound of doves, beating their breast. 8 But Nineveh is like a pool of water from her days; yet they are fleeing. Halt! Halt! they cry, but none looks back. 9 Seize the silver; seize the gold; for there is no end to the treasures; riches from all precious vessels. 10 She is empty and void and waste; and the heart melts, and the knees knock, and trembling is on all the loins; and all their faces collect heat. 11 Where is the den of the lions, and the feeding place of the young lions, where the lion and the lioness walked, and the lion's cub, and no one made them afraid? 12 The lion tears in pieces enough for his cubs, and strangles for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with torn prey. 13 Behold, I am against you, says the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions. I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers shall be heard no more. Nahum 3: 1 Woe to the bloody city! It is a lie, and full of plunder; the prey is not withdrawn. 2 The sound of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of a wheel, and of a galloping horse, and of a bounding chariot. 3 The horseman lifts up both the bright sword and the lightning of the spear. And many are slain, and there are a mass of dead bodies, and no end of corpses; they stumble on their dead bodies, 4 because of the many harlotries of the well-favored harlot, the mistress of sorceries who sells nations by her harlotries, and families by her sorceries. 5 Behold, I am against you, says the LORD of hosts; and I will uncover your skirts upon your face. And I will cause the nations to see your nakedness, and the kingdoms your shame. 6 And I will cast filth upon you, and will dishonor you, and will set you as a gazing-stock. 7 And it shall be that all those who look upon you shall flee from you, and say, Nineveh is laid waste; who will weep for her? From where shall I seek comforters for you? 8 Are you better than No Amon, that dwelt among the Nile branches, waters all around her, whose rampart was the sea, the waters her wall? 9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, yea, without end. Put and Lubim were among your helpers. 10 Yet she went into exile; she went into captivity, and her young children also were dashed to pieces at the head of all the streets; and they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains. 11 You also shall be drunken; you shall be hidden, you also shall seek strength because of the enemy. 12 All your strongholds shall be like fig trees with the first fruits; if they are shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater. 13 Behold, your people in your midst are women. The gates of your land shall surely be opened to your enemies; the fire shall devour your bars. 14 Draw waters for the siege; fortify your strongholds; go into the clay, and tread the mortar; make the brick mold strong. 15 There fire shall devour you; the sword shall cut you off, it shall eat you up like the locust. Make yourself as many as the larvae, multiply yourself like the locusts. 16 You have multiplied your merchants above the stars of heaven; the locust larvae shall strip off and fly away. 17 Your rulers are like the locusts, and your officials are a swarm of locusts that camp in the hedges in the cold day; the sun rises, and they flee, and the place where they are is not known. 18 Your shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria. Your nobles are at rest; your people are scattered upon the mountains, and no one is gathering. 19 There is no healing of your fracture; your wound is grievous; all who hear the news of you shall clap the hands over you; for upon whom has your wickedness not passed continually? Now Sarai, Abram's wife, bore him no children. She had an Egyptian slave-girl whose name was Hagar, and Sarai said to Abram, "You see that the LORD has prevented me from bearing children; go in to my slave-girl; it may be that I shall obtain children by her. "And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai. So, after Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her slave-girl, and gave her to her husband Abram as a wife. . . . Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram named his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael. Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael. When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, "I am God Almighty;" walk before me, and be blameless. And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will make you exceedingly numerous." Then Abram fell on his face; and God said to him, "As for me, this is my covenant with you: You shall be the ancestor of a multitude of nations. No longer shall your name be Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you the ancestor of a multitude of nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. I will establish my covenant between me and you, and your offspring after you throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you, and to your offspring after you, the land where you are now an alien, all the land of Canaan, for a perpetual holding; and I will be their God." God said to Abraham, "As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations. This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you. Throughout your generations every male among you shall be circumcised when he is eight days old, including the slave born in your house and the one bought with your money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring. Both the slave born in your house and the one bought with your money must be circumcised. So shall my covenant be in your flesh an everlasting covenant. Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant." MY DREAM OF THE CIRCUMCISED SONS: 5-19-02 - DREAM - I realized it was Thursday and I was supposed to be at work and I was hoping they wouldn't fire me for showing up without an excuse by noon. So, I was in a hurry to get things done in the house before I left for work. I looked in the closet and discovered that the slacks I wanted to wear are wrinkled from laying around too long, so I needed to dampen them and iron them or throw them in the dryer. There is another woman helping me - a shorter, dark-haired young woman. I didn't know who she was. I spotted some paperwork I had to take care of - there are 4 certificates for circumcisions I need to send in to some office. I don't' know why this is, but I have to get them registered. While I'm messing around with this, I hear the voice of Cary L. in the yard, and I think to myself, "Oh my God! The house is a mess and I jumped up to start cleaning. All of a sudden Cary walked through the hallway, astounded at the mess. I followed her into a galley kitchen which is dimly lit. Around the corner from the galley kitchen, is a larger kitchen with white curtains and drapes with large red roses all over them. This kitchen is more brightly lit because of the window, but it too is stashed high in the sink with party dishes. Cary volunteered to help with the dishes and for some reason I started to take down the heavy winter drapes which covered the lower half of the wall around the sink, leaving thinner curtains with the exact same pattern on the windows. Now I realized I had to wash the drapes before I can put them away and there are large hooks in them which have to be removed first. But at the same time, I see the whole room is full of beautiful green plants and vines. But before I washed the drapes, I spotted a piece of paper which is my credit card bill for a circumcision charge and I think it says $35.34, but in a vision it shows me, it was $34.32 and the last 2 turns around and becomes a 3. So, it would have cost $34.33. I'm thinking this was the cost of a 5th circumcision. NOTE: I woke up and realized that since I had 5 sons, that would make sense. I don't know why they had to be registered, and the cost was probably not correct in real life as they occurred over a 10 year period of time.

(Galatians 4:21-31) -The apostle Paul tells the story like this:
Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise. These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written: "Be glad, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have no labor pains; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband." Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. But what does the Scripture say? "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son." Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman. |
34:33 Exodus 34:30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him. 31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. 32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai. 33 And [till] Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail (veil) on his face. 34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel [that] which he was commanded. 35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail (veil) upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him. JOB: 34: 31 "Suppose a man says to God, 'I am guilty but will offend no more. 32 Teach me what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I will not do so again.' 33 Should God then reward you on your terms, when you refuse to repent? 2 Chronicles 34:28 Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again. (r) It may appear that very few were touched with true repentance, seeing that God spared them for a time only for the king’s sake. 34:30 And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and s small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the LORD. (s) Though neither young nor old could be exempted from the curses contained in it, if they did transgress, he knew it pertained to all and was his duty to see it read to all sorts, that everyone might learn to avoid those punishments by serving God correctly. 34:33 And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that [pertained] to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve, [even] to serve the LORD their God. [And] all his days they departed not from following the LORD, the God of their fathers. (t) Because he had charge over all, and must answer for everyone that perished: he thought it his duty to see that all should make profession to receive the word of God.

In the Gospel of Thomas: #53
"His disciples said to him, "Is circumcision beneficial or not?" He said to them, "If it were beneficial, their father would beget them already circumcised from their mother. Rather, the true circumcision in spirit has become completely profitable." This is quite unlikely to be a teaching of Jesus. Nowhere in the NT Gospels does Jesus address the issue of circumcision. But Paul does. And this is significant, because the issue of circumcision was a point of contention between the Jewish Christians and the Gentile Christians. Had Jesus taught this, you would have expected Paul to appeal to this authoritative teaching. Or, at the least, you would not have expected this to have been an issue for the Jerusalem Church. It certainly appears that the author of the Gospels of Thomas mistook Paul's teaching ("circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit" [Ro 2:29]) as that of Jesus'. And if this is the case, we must ask how many other teachings are falsely attributed to Jesus.

Phillip K. Dick Exegesis from 'Valis' (Vast Acting Living Intelligence System) P. 231 #17 - The gnostics believed in two temporal ages: The first or present 'evil'; the second or future benign. The first age was the Age of Iron. It is represented by a Black Iron Prison. It ended in August, 1974 and was replaced by the Age of Gold, which is represented by a Palm-tree Garden. NOTE: The change in the Ages is debated widely. See: The Ages The Hebrew word for "imprisoned" (kaph-lamed-vav-aleph) is found in the matrix at an ELS of 6 in Leviticus 18:24. Abaddon is currently imprisoned in the Abyss. 1 Peter 3:13-22 - After all, who in the ordinary way is likely to injure you for being enthusiastic for good? And if it should happen that you suffer "for righteousness' sake", that is a privilege. You need neither fear their threats nor worry about them (who persecute you); simply concentrate on being completely devoted to Christ in your hearts. Be ready at any time to give a quiet and reverent answer to any man who wants a reason for the hope that you have within you. Make sure that your conscience is perfectly clear, so that if men should speak slanderously of you as rogues they may come to feel ashamed of themselves for libelling your good Christian behaviour. If it is the will of God that you should suffer it is really better to suffer unjustly than because you have deserved it. Remember that Christ the just suffered for us the unjust, to bring us to God. That meant the death of his body, but he came to life again in the spirit. It was in the spirit that he went and preached to the imprisoned souls of those who had been disobedient in the days of Noah - the days of God's great patience during the period of the building of the ark, in which eventually only eight souls were saved in the flood. And I cannot help pointing out what a perfect illustration this is of the way you have been admitted to the safety of the Christian "ark" by baptism, which means, of course, far more than the mere washing of a dirty body: it means the ability to face God with a clear conscience. For there is in every true baptism the virtue of Christ's rising from the dead. And he has now entered Heaven and is at God's right hand, with all angels, authorities and powers subservient to him.
1Pe 3:19 - (Greek New Testament text versus conjectural text) FROM: http://www.deliriumsrealm.com/delirium/religion/descent_peter.asp The Descent - 1 Peter The most significant biblical writing concerning the Descent is 1 Pet 3:18-22, which refers to Christ preaching 'to the spirits in prison who had once been disobedient' (1 Pet 3:19). There have been many debates over what this line refers to. In the context of the entire passage 3:18-22), most scholars interpret it as a reference to the Fall of the Watchers story in 1 Enoch; however, it could be a reference to the souls of a specific group of people or to people in general who lived at the time of Noah. One scholar sees the 'spirits in prison' as the generation of mankind that perished in the Flood of Noah, though he also believes that those spirits may also include the fallen angels. Another view, on the other hand, identifies the 'disobedient' spirits as referring to the Fallen Angels, though it may include the sinful people of the time of Noah. Christ's preaching is interpreted as a proclamation "about Himself as the Messiah," which may be connected with the previous passage (3:17-18) and interpreted as Christ preached his Gospel to the spirits from the Flood, so should Christians preach his Gospel to the pagans in their environment. Where the spirits are imprisoned and when Christ preached to them is also addressed. The passage seems to be in connection with Jesus' death; however, it does not designate whether the preaching took place during the time between Jesus' death on the cross and the resurrection or during or after the resurrection. If the spirits in prison were in the underworld (in reference to 2 Pet. 2:4 and Jude 6), it is most likely that he preached to them while he was dead. However, if the spirits were imprisoned somewhere else (in reference to the Book of the Secrets of Enoch, which has the Fallen Angels/Watchers imprisoned in either the second heaven or the fifth heaven) the preaching most likely occurred during Christ's ascension. Finally, there may be a connection with the Descent in 3:19 with the baptism presented in 3:21-22, in that "the resurrection of Christ gives Baptism power to rescue the Christian that he may have eternal life with God." This connection of Baptism with the Descent becomes more developed in later Descent traditions such as the Odes of Solomon. While it is possible that the term 'spirits in prison' refers to the Fallen Angels, it may also be a reference to the wicked men of Noah's generation. In this interpretation, Christ proclaimed his victory over sin and death to those in Sheol, thus referring to the Descensus Ad Inferos interpretation. It is interesting to note that while many modern scholars interpret the text to be a reference to the Descent, Augustine did not interpret this passage in this way. Rather, it referred to a pre-existent Christ who appeared in Spirit form to the disobedient of the time of Noah. These spirits were said to be 'in prison' because they were imprisoned in their own ignorance. (Epistle 151)
Paul, according to Acts (Act 16:9-40), established at Philippi the first Christian community in Europe. He came to Philippi, via its harbor town of Neapolis (modern Kavalla), on his second missionary journey, probably in A.D. 49 or 50, accompanied by Silas and Timothy (Act 15:40; 16:3; cf Phi 1:1) and Luke, if he is to be included in the "we" references of Act 16:10-17. The Acts account tells of the conversion of a business woman, Lydia; the exorcism of a slave girl; and, after an earthquake, while Paul and Silas were imprisoned in Philippi, the faith and baptism of a jailer and his family. None of these persons, however, is directly mentioned in Philippians (cf the notes on Phi 4:2 and Phi 4:3). Act 16 concludes its account by describing how Paul (and Silas), asked by the magistrates to leave Philippi, went on to Thessalonica (Act 17:1-10), where several times his loyal Philippians continued to support him with financial aid (Phi 4:16). Later, Paul may have passed through Philippi on his way from Ephesus to Greece (Act 20:1-2), and he definitely stopped there on his fateful trip to Jerusalem (Act 20:6). Paul's letter to the Christians at Philippi was written while he was in a prison somewhere (Phi 1:7,13,14,17), indeed in danger of death (Phi 1:20-23). Although under guard for preaching Christ, Paul rejoices at the continuing progress of the gospel (Phi 1:12-26) and expresses gratitude for the Philippians' renewed concern and help in an expression of thanks most clearly found at Phi 4:10-20. Much of the letter is devoted to instruction about unity and humility within the Christian community at Philippi (Phi 1:27-2:18) and exhortations to growth, joy, and peace in their life together (Phi 4:1-9). The letter seems to be drawing to a close at the end of what we number as Phi 2, as Paul reports the plans of his helper Timothy and of Epaphroditus (whom the Philippians had sent to aid Paul) to come to Philippi (Phi 2:19-3:1), and even Paul's own expectation that he will go free and come to Philippi (Phi 1:25-26; 2:24). Yet quite abruptly at Phi 3:2, Paul erupts into warnings against false teachers who threaten to impose on the Philippians the burdens of the Mosaic law, including circumcision. The section that follows, Phi 3:2-21, is a vigorous attack on these Judaizers (cf Gal 2:11-3:29) or Jewish Christian teachers (cf 2Co 11:12-23), giving us insights into Paul's own life story (Phi 3:4-6) and into the doctrine of justification, the Christian life, and ultimate hope (Phi 3:7-21). The location of Paul's imprisonment when he wrote to the Philippians, and thus the date of the letter, are uncertain. The traditional view has been that it stems from Paul's confinement in Rome, between A.D. 59 and 63 (cf Act 28:14-31). One modern view suggests the period when he was imprisoned at Caesarea, on the coast of Palestine, A.D. 57 or 58 (Act 23:23-26:32); another suggests Corinth (cf 2Co 11:9). Much recent scholarship favors Ephesus, around A.D. 55, a situation referred to in 2 Cor 1, 8 concerning "the affliction that came to us" in Asia Minor (cf also 1 Cor 15:32). The reference at Phi 1:13 to the "praetorium" (cf also Phi 4:22) can be understood to mean the imperial guard or government house at Ephesus (or Caesarea), or the praetorian camp in Rome. Involved in a decision are the several journeys back and forth between Philippi and wherever Paul is imprisoned, mentioned in the letter (Phi 2:25-28; 4:14); this factor causes many to prefer Ephesus because of its proximity to Philippi. The Ephesian hypothesis dates the composition of Philippians to the mid-50s when most of Paul's major letters were written. Christians Remain Imprisoned in Brunei
By Jeff Taylor, Compass Direct | posted 7/10/01 "Everyone who is in any sort of leadership position in the indigenous church—youth, Sunday school, church council—has been called up for interrogation," said a source close to the situation. "They were summoned to the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, and each person would be interrogated by about 15 officers from the ISD," the source said. "However, the officers seemed satisfied with their answers and, in fact, encouraged the indigenous believers to carry on in their good work." Seven Christians were arrested in December and January for alleged "cult" activities, and materials describing a systemic prayer program for the country were reportedly discovered in possession of one of the believers. Since then, indigenous and non-indigenous Christians have been questioned by authorities, who fear evangelism among the country's predominately Muslim population could disturb religious harmony. Christians involved in the prayer program have faced the most difficulty. "They have had to explain the terminology that was used in the documents found and that it was not a program to overthrow the government," the source said. A March 26 article in Malaysia's The Sun newspaper carried an Agence France Press report that accused the arrested Christians of "trying to spread Christianity in the sultanate." The article quoted an ISD officer as saying the Christians' activities were "aimed to deviate the belief of the Muslim population by deceptive means." The Borneo Bulletin repeated on March 22 a Radio Television Brunei report that said the Christians "were found to have made secret plans to mislead many Muslims from their faith through lies." It is not known exactly how many church leaders have been questioned, but media reports and local church sources have cited numbers ranging from 12 to 100. Three of the seven Christians arrested—Malai Taufick Haji Malai Mashor, Mohammed Fredie Chong Abdullah and Yunus Murang—remain imprisoned, according to church sources. Taufick and Chong are Muslim converts to Christianity. Murang was sentenced to two years in prison for illegally importing and possessing Indonesian Bibles. Taufick's wife, who asked that her name and location outside Brunei remain undisclosed, told Compass that Taufick's eldest son from his first Muslim was the only one in the family permitted to visit Taufick in prison — once a week on Thursday. "The fact that Taufick is still in prison is, in a way, encouraging," a source told Compass. "It means that he has not renounced his faith. Continue to pray for him." Compass sources believe that Fredie Chong's wife, a Muslim and high police official, prefers that Chong remain in detention until he returns to Islam. Yunus Murang is reported to be content to remain in prison as no known appeal of his two-year sentence has been filed. He is not being mistreated and apparently has had opportunities to talk about his Christian faith. Amnesty International's Web site lists the three detained Christians as prisoners of conscience being held for "peacefully exercising their right to freedom of religion as enshrined in the international human rights standards and the Brunei Constitution." FIVE CHRISTIAN LAWS THAT BRING FREEDOM
1.) Freedom through Confession BIBLE READING: Romans 2:12-15 We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. All of us struggle with our conscience, trying to make peace within our own heart. We may deny what we have done, find excuses, or try to squirm out from beneath the full weight of our conduct. We may work hard to be "good," trying to counteract our wrongs. We do everything we can to even out the score. In order to put the past to rest, however, we must stop rationalizing our failures and admit the truth. We are all born with a built-in alarm that alerts us to what is wrong. God holds everyone accountable, "for down in their hearts they know right from wrong. God's laws are written within them; their own conscience accuses them, or sometimes excuses them" (Romans 2:12-15).
2.) God LOVES you, and offers a wonderful PLAN for your life.
God's Plan 3.) Man is SINFUL and SEPARATED from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life.
Man is Sinful Man was created to have fellowship with God; but, because of his stubborn self-will, he chose to go his own independent way and fellowship with God was broken. This self-will, characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is evidence of what the Bible calls sin.
Man is Separated 4.) Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for Man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life.
He Died in Our Place
He Rose from the Dead
He is the Only Way to God 5.) We must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.
We Must Receive Christ
We Receive Christ Through Faith
When we receive Christ, We Experience a New Birth
We Receive Christ by Personal Invitation Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins and to make us the kind of people He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. We receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of will.

The Five Laws of Magic
The sorcerer works within five Laws of Magic. These laws define Ritual and High Magics. All workings function based on the existence and interrelationships among these laws. Law of Contagion "Once connected, always connected." Things that were once connected maintain that connection and can be used to direct the energies of a working. This can be something that was once part of the magical target, such as hair, nail clippings, or blood, or else something of emotional value. Only very strongly connected items can be used for a working on a target from or in another plane. Law of Similarity "If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck." Those things that appear alike act alike for magical workings. A doll of the target may stand in for the target, a chain can stand for a binding spell. Likewise, the source of magical power is reflected in the working. Law of Names "Names have power." Names direct and control power. Without the target’s name, a magical working is far more difficult and cannot have a permanent effect. Likewise, the names and symbols of the ritual control the aspects of the working. Law of Entropy "There is no free lunch." The power invested in a working cannot ever be recovered in its effects. The more structured the working, the more efficient the magic. Likewise, the time spent in a working reduces the effort needed to perform it. Creating magic on the spur of the moment requires a tremendous effort and is very inefficient. Law of Return "What you do is cast back upon you." The good or ill one does is reflected back upon one, particularly when the good or ill is a result of a magical working. Those who use magic for evil or selfish gain rather than enlightenment and defense will find their life filled with unfortunate coincidences and events. This Law is most obvious when working with raw magics of the Realm, when the fragile fabric of magic in Terra Regina is most tattered. |

THE FIVE ELEMENTS OF THE UNIVERSE
If Chi was the creating force of all visible components then they believed it had to be a factor behind our existence as well. From Yin and Yang came the Five Elements of the universe. These Five Elements - give birth to all things in creation, including human beings. |
The principles of the Five-Element Master Kata |
THE 5 ELEMENTS 1) WOOD gives life to FIRE As wood is used for fire it was believed that wood produced fire. 2) FIRE gives life to EARTH As the fire burns out it leaves behind the ashes which united with the earth so it was believed that fire produces earth. 3) EARTH gives life to METAL Metal was originally mined from the earth so the ancients believed that the earth produced metal. 4) METAL gives life to WATER Wherever metal was mined water was found nearby, so it led to the belief that metal produced water. 5) WATER gives life to WOOD Without trees there would be no life and without water the trees would die, so it was believed that water produced wood. The Laws of the Universe are governed by the principles of Yin and Yang and while it is believed that the elements gave life to each other so it was accepted that there was also a negative side, where the elements can be used to defeat each other. 1) WOOD defeats EARTH As a tree grows it spreads its roots and breaks up the soil so it was believed that wood was the master of earth. 2) EARTH defeats WATER Water is fluid and without shape and it is controlled by the earth that determines its flow so it was believed that earth to be the master of water. 3) WATER defeats FIRE As water was the only element that was available for the ancients to control fire so the believe that water was the master of fire. 4) FIRE defeats METAL Metal is a hard substance but when subjected to fire it became fluid and adaptable to use so it was believed that fire is the master of metal. 5) METAL defeats WOOD Without metal the ancients would not have been able to construct. Metal tools were required to cut trees and construct so metal became the master of wood. The above explanation will help the individual to perform their katas with an understanding of what the techniques represent. They will find it easier to give feeling and meaning to the katas and hopefully be able to appreciate the philosophy of the Five-Elements. |
THE QURAN Everything has five stages or degrees of existence. Everything has five stages or degrees of existence. Essentially, it exists in the Creator’s Knowledge as meaning. Even if God Almighty did not create it, it would continue to exist in His Knowledge as meaning. Thus, that meaning constitutes the essential existence of everything. The second stage or degree of a thing’s existence is that it exists in the Divine Will as a form or ‘plan’. Then comes the stage of a thing’s material existence in the material realm. This is followed by its existence in memories and, if it has any, through its offspring. The fifth stage is its eternal existence in the other world. God Almighty will ‘use’ the wreck of this world in the construction of the other one, where animals will continue their existence, each species through a representative of its own, while each human being will find an eternal life which will have been designed for him according to his living in this world. I hope now it is clear what kind of a relationship there is between science and Islam or the Qur’an. The universe, man and the Qur’an are the is the Divine book of creaFirst of all, the universe, the subject-matter of the sciences, is the realm where God's Names are manifested and therefore has some sort of sanctity. Everything in it is a letter from God Almighty inviting us to study it to have knowledge of Him. Thus, the universe is the collection of those letters or, as Muslim sages call it, the Divine Book of Creation, issuing, primarily, from the Divine Attributes of Will and Power. As for the Qur’an, issuing from the Divine Will of Speech, it is the counterpart of the universe in written form. Just as there can be no conflict between a palace and the paper written to describe it, there can also be no conflict between the universe and the Qur’an, which are two expressions of the same truth. Similarly, man is also a Divine book corresponding to the Qur’an and the universe. It is because of this that the term used to signify the sentences of the Qur’an—ayah—also means events taking place within the souls of men and phenomena in the world of nature. |

Funny Laws To Lighten the Mood
In Massachusetts, it is a criminal offense to wear a costume while collecting a debt. A Tennessee law said that a man cannot divorce his wife unless he leaves her 10 pounds of dried beans, five pounds of apples, one side of meat, and enough yarn to knit her own stockings for 12 months. A Blythe, Calif., city ordinance declares that a person must own at least two cows before he or she is permitted to wear cowboy boots in public. A teacher must swear that she or he has never taken part in a duel, either as a principal or as a second, before she or he is allowed to take a teaching position in Nevada. A Michigan public health law says that the failure to provide individual drinking utensils at public drinking fountains is a misdemeanor. A Portland, Ore., ordinance forbids anyone to bathe in the rivers, lakes, or creeks within its corporate limits without wearing a dress that covers the body from the neck to the knees. Washington state law says that a driver of a car not equipped with ashtrays is liable for a $200 fine. It is against the law in Altoona, Pa., for a baby sitter to raid her or his employer's refrigerator. In Forgan, Okla., it is illegal to ride a bicycle backward down the main street. A Blue Earth, Minn., law says that no child under 12 may talk on the telephone unless accompanied by a parent. |
The Tree of Life. Tree of Sephirot. Tree of Books. Sepher in Hebrew means book or number. The Tree of life is an important part of the Qabala (Kaballah). It was developed by Jewish mystics between 100 and 600 AD and more thoroughly written between 1280 and 1286 by Moses ben Shem Tov de Leon in Guadalajara, Spain. The Oral Tradition Those who were in possession of the key were called Gnostics, the men who knew. They were the Essenes, Nazarenes, and Mandaites, etc., all initiates who understood the true symbolic nature of the serpent. The Gnostics were expounders of the ancient wisdom by means of the oral tradition of Egypt and Chaldea. They had inherited the unwritten Law, the sayings uttered from mouth to ear and only made known to those who were instructed in the mysteries. Because of the diversity of teachings on the Tree of Life, and the fact that we have written about this topic numerous times before, I will just provide links to those pages:

Kabbalah is the name applied to the whole range of Jewish mystical activity. While codes of Jewish law focus on what it is God wants from man, kabbalah tries to penetrate deeper, to God's essence itself. The most famous work of kabbalah, the Zohar, was revealed to the Jewish world in the thirteenth century by Moses De Leon, who claimed that the book contained the mystical writings of the second-century rabbi Simeon bar Yochai. Almost all modern Jewish academic scholars believe that De Leon himself authored the Zohar, although many Orthodox kabbalists continue to accept De Leon's attribution of it to Simeon bar Yochai. Indeed, Orthodox mystics are apt to see Bar Yochai not so much as the Zohar's author as the recorder of mystical traditions dating back to the time of Moses. A religious scholar referred to a certain matter as being in the Torah, and when asked him where, he said: "It's in the Zohar. Is that not the same as if it was in the Torah itself?" The Zohar is written in Aramaic (the language of the Talmud) in the form of a commentary on the five books of the Torah. Whereas most commentaries interpret the Torah as a narrative and legal work, mystics are as likely to interpret it "as a system of symbols which reveal the secret laws of the universe and even the secrets of God" (Deborah Kerdeman and Lawrence Kushner, The Invisible Chariot, p. 90). To cite one example, Leviticus 26 records "a carrot and a stick" that God offers the Jewish people. If they follow his decrees, He will reward them. But if they spurn them, God will "set His face" against the people: "I will discipline you sevenfold for your sins...." and "I will scatter you among the nations" (26:28, 33). At the chapter's conclusion, God says: "Yet, even then, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them or spurn them so as to destroy them, breaking My covenant with them, for I am the Lord, heir God" (26:44).
